Welcome! emoticon I have found Paleo can be as easy or hard as we make it! When I don't have the time to look at and cook "recipes" I stick to the basics, roasted veggies, roasted meat and fruit always on hand! Diane

Glad to hear that you're looking out for your kids. Things are so much easier for them if they are in control of their weight and diet from a young age (and learn to eat real food)! There are books out now specifically for paleo kids, and I think if you search paleo parents on the web you'll get lots of ideas (I'm not a parent, so I don't have specifics for you).

It can seem a little less daunting if you sort of ease your way into it (assuming you're not dealing with food sensitivities), maybe by replacing one or two meals per day with more paleo-friendly choices - like having eggs and veggies for breakfast instead of cereal or toast. There are some really delicious paleo recipes out there, and once you find some you like, it will start seeming easy and you won't really miss the Standard American Diet fare.

I'm newer to paleo/primal, too. I'll have to look for the recipes, as I have no idea how to cook stuff up on my own, lol. I think it's great that you're also looking out for your kids and not just yourself. My fiance was trying to get me to eat a no-no food last night, so I understand how others just don't get it.

I am new to Paleo, but have tried just about everything under the sun out there. For the last 3-4 weeks I have been reviewing, and testing the Unleash your thin and Bulletproof diet strategies and rationals. It seems to make sense.

I am kind of testing things on myself, and then want to expand to the rest of my family. One of my three children seem to be following the same path as me weight wise, so I need to get ahead of that while she is young.

I look forward to learning a lot from this group, since many of these ideas are still threatening to the outside world. The low fat, high grain culture is so prevalent.

I peeked at some of the paleo recipes and they look great for after I get the basics down.
