emoticon I too recommend finding things like the spaghetti squash instead of trying to make substitutes. I use Bibb (Boston) lettuce for lettuce wraps instead of sandwiches and taco shells for example. I also find a lot of things lend itself to Paleo, like stir frys.

Thanks Egalitaire. I like the idea of replacing some of my old favorites instead of remaking them. Excellent! I've made a goal to find one new recipe per week. I think I'll start with Cauliflower rice :) I may find one for Spaghetti squash too. I'm going to Whole Foods tomorrow. Again thank you for the warm welcome and the appealing viewpoint.

Hi Marjjane,

Welcome to the Paleo team. Lots of supportive people with a variety of different perspectives and experiences so feel free to ask questions and share your experiences - we are all learning from each other.

I have found this lifestyle does become easy - I spend less time thinking about food than previously, but it does take some adjustment, so give yourself time and space to do that.

And yes, our diets do impact in a number of health related areas.

One thing that worked well for me was to ensure I had a replacement for all the foods I was no longer eating. Replacement not re-creation. I didn't try to make bread out of all manner of things, I did start using spaghetti squash and cauliflower rice instead of pasta and rice.

Once you get into a rhythm it becomes quite natural and most people wouldn't think of eating any other way - plus most people feel way better - although that can take up to 30 days for some people, depending on where they are physically when staring down the path.

I have a lot of weight to lose and a lot of health problems I need to correct. I didn't think just losing weight would address all of my issues...until I discovered Paleo. I decided to give it a try. We'll see what happens. I need easy so I'm always looking for quick easy meals and convenience foods that fit the Paleo food choices. I welcome suggestions. My favorite discovery so far has been the Pure Indian Ghee. Love it! To me the convenience is so worth the price. Go Paleo!
