Thanks again everyone. I'm having a great time setting goals, getting "points", seeing everything available. Even found some exercises I could do. That part isn't easy because of the fibro, CFS and what feels like the beginnings of frozen shoulder. I have learned over the past 4-5 days that I can't have SF pudding, just too many carbs.....I've been stalled for awhile, but have good fasting sugars. Still, I'd rather be losing some weight too! lol

If you relay any info to your skeptical friend, point out that my experience was IF works when the fasting cycle was more than 18 hours, but I found it to not really work for me until I got up to 20 hours. Neither Atkins nor Paleo did much for my insulin until I started doing IF.

Hi JonnieCarol - sounds like you are in the right forum - everybody has their own version of what's "paleo", so don't worry - Paleo is more of a framework than some strict prescription. There are some huffy purists out in the world - but they don't reside here, and even the "experts" disagree on what's Paleo
This team is more about finding out what works for each of us individually. You will find a lot of helpful and supportive people with a vast range of different experiences, most following a plan somewhat associated with Paleo or Primal.
I find it interesting you have found IF to work to lower your insulin requirements. I was blogging with another sparker on another team about IF yesterday - she was skeptical that it would work for a diabetic. We're all different.

Hi everyone! I didn't know Spark even had a paleo section! To be truthful, I'm not strict paleo because I make my own version of "low carb" milk and add it to SF pudding once in a while. I also use heavy whipping cream in my coffee and I make a faux bread to eat with my bacon and eggs once or twice a week. Don't hold it against me, okay?!?!? lol
What else? Ummmm....I'm 55 y.o., 5'4", weigh 161 and hope to get down to 130 or thereabouts. I'll decide the exact weight once I see how I feel and how I look at 130. I'm also doing intermittent fasting on a 21/3 schedule because that's the only thing making my insulin needs get lower and lower. Have gone from 68 units a day to 22 units a day so far.
So that's me in a nutshell and my goals. Just happy to be here! Am I in the right forum? Introduce yourself?
