I bought The Primal Blueprint ebook so I'll get started on reading that when I'm not so darn tired from all my Christmas baking and running around, lol. I did bake another batch of Elana Amsterdam's Paleo Banana bread and added pecans again. Will be Christmas Day breakfast for the family I think.

I'll probably try to stay away from the cheese as much as possible but treat myself occasionally.

I avoid the grains and beans (although occasionally stray for beans), I don't have issues with dairy so I do it, doing way more fat (butter, coconut, non lean meats) than what SB recommends - and I am with you in that I never used the SB processed foods. I have been leaning more towards Harris's PaNu/Paleo 2.0.

Yeah....never been a fan of the processed SBD stuff that was never a part of the original diet. Dairy can be an issue for me but I looooooove cheese. That might be difficult. LOL. I'm going to read up on Paleo though.

Kierae...what principles do you take from each diet?

emoticon I have done South Beach. The Paleo diet and South Beach can work, but the big thing is cutting out ALL grains and legumes. South Beach also promotes it's own processed products that are not all that healthy. I have read all the labels. Dairy is an issue if you are sensitive to it, and is promoted on South Beach. Paleo eliminates all the major allergens and so may help you a lot! (except eggs oops!)

hey girlfriend! I do a cross between SB and primal/paleo these days - it can be done.

Hello, my name is Clarissa and I'm looking to find out more about the Paleo diet. I've started the South Beach Diet phase 1 again but may switch over if I find this suits me better. I'm hypothyroid, intolerant to wheat, have an allergy to pretty much everything outside and have asthma. In addition, I have high blood pressure and high cholesterol which all started when my thyroid decided to stop functioning well after my son was born six years ago. I've always had a weight problem and I want to feel good as well as be healthy. I'm currently reading through many of the posts here.
