Thanks for that website. I already snatched the banana bread recipe off it.

Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul

I'm fairly new as well and like everyone else already said, marksdailyapple is an awesome website. The website that probably helped me the most at the very beginning was practicalpaleoliving.com. It has a "how to" guide to get you started.

Welcome! It is basically eating meats, fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds. No grains, legumes or sugar other than ones that could be eaten unprocessed (honey, stevia, pure maple syrup). It surely will help a diabetic as it is generally a lower carb plan, and Mark Sisson has a Carb Curve on his website that tells where you should be. Check out www.marksdailyapple.com

Hi Danielle!
Marksdailyapple.com has some good introduction information. Rob Wolff's website does, too. Basically, eating Paleo is eating the way our bodies are designed to eat and did eat for hundreds of thousands of years before the agricultural revolution began 10,000 years ago. They find that the people of the hunter/gathering age were free of "modern" diseases that began with the advent of modern day agriculture. You will eat meat, lots of veggies, a little fruit, fat from coconut oil, olive oil, avacados, and nuts as condiments. Peruse on the internet about Paleo and you will find lots of information. When you are ready for a book, there are some good ones out there including Rob Wolff's and Primal Body, Primal Mind. I hope you guys find what you are looking for. I got turned onto this, by the way, because of researching what to do for my son's autism. It's not as strict as some of the diets for him but I find that we as a whole family can do it and enjoy, it, too.
Hope this helps!
Daryl

There are a few good places to learn about Paleo on the web
Also, the other diet that is very close to Paleo is called "Primal". Most people (including me) don't even pay a lot of attention to the difference because it's not really much. Anyway, go to this website and browse around it. You'll probably learn something. Mark Sisson's book "The Primal Blueprint is fascinating reading...

Hey guys,

I'm trying to get more information about the Paleo Diet, is there anywhere in this team that explains this? I joined the Clean Eating Team because my husband was diagnosed with Diabetes and other health issues, I was told the Paleo Diet would be better but there doesn't seem to be much information on the diet.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.
Danielle
