Hey there and welcome!

I think we have a lot in common. I too, have been carrying around an extra 10 or so lbs for a few years now. I lost 60 in total and would love to shed another 10 or 15. I did my first half-marathon last summer and just ran my second this past weekend!

Hope you are soon able to get outside to run, and your allergies don't act up. Luckily I don't seem to have allergies (knock on wood)

Trying to sign up for a 17 mile trail race in September but they don't have the online entry link yet... I NEED the goal so I feel compelled to keep running!

I signed up for the Rock & Roll Philly half. It's close so it's convenient. No traveling trips planned for any races this year. Maybe next year. I will run the Nike one in San Fran some day - I want that Tiffany necklace!

Welcome! I'm training for my next half marathon too (probably Savannah in November.) I just finished the Country Music Half at the end of April but working to keep my miles up so I don't have to start over! I can't wait to hear how your training comes along :)

I liked it a lot. I did almost all of my training on a treadmill, and I had no problems on the street, as it's pretty flat in Richmond. The only bad thing about it was that it rained the entire time. :-( Mostly just drizzled, but still that wasn't welcome on the day of my first half marathon!

Hi! Just joined this team today. I'm looking for a few like-minded Spark friends who will help keep me going as I train for my second 1/2 marathon on July 31 (San Francisco! So excited! My first 1/2 was in Richmond, VA in November 2009). I'm finding the training difficult, as for the moment I'm just using the treadmill because my allergies sometimes act up in the spring. After May, it should be fine to run outside.

ANYWAY, I've been fighting with 10 pounds for the past 6 years, and my longterm goal is to get down to 130lb (I've been hovering around 140, which is a healthy weight for my body, for years, but I really want to get cut and tone up my arms and belly.)

I would love to find some support here, and brag about my runs everyday! (I did 3 miles today-Yahoo!!)
