Hi. My name is Linda. I am new to the team and fairly new to the use of herbs and thier uses. I saw that the current leaders have not posted in over 60 days so I volunteered to help out.

Please be patient with me as I learn about herbs and also get to know you.

Hope to hear from many of you soon. Much success to all of us!

Good evening. I'm on yet another restart. I figure I'll eventually get it right.

I'm 57, divorced and mom to an energetic 9 yr old daughter. I've studied aromatherapy and am now branching out to herbs.

HI I am Gina. I love using herbs though I don't know as much as I would like. Last summer I finally started a pot garden for my herbs but made one huge mistake. I didn't consider water needs when I chose what I was planting. I use a great deal of Aloe because of severe excema and psoriasis so I planted my huge plant of that in with the rest. Lack of water left me with nicely dried basil and thyme. I need to learn more. Glad to meet you all.

Hi, I am new to the team, but not to gardening. Just love getting my hands dirty! What can I say, it is the generations of farmers in me. Over the past 2 yrs, I have made infused cold process soap, bath salts, body oils. I love mixing essential oils for interesting scents. My latest is clary sage and sweet orange. I have grown and dried herbs for cooking. Mixing up goodies is my favorite Christmas gift to give. I am just starting Rosemary Gladstone correspondence herb course. I planted some very strong things this past year. Every hear of a tooth ache plant? Anyway, I look forward to sharing recipes and hints with all of you.

I am also new here. I just started some herbs from seeds - lavender, rosemary, thyme, parsley, chives and oregano. They are growing pretty good (so far).

This is so very interesting! I think some seperate threads would be grrr8, so we can easily find the herb, 'medicine', tea, or beauty product, ?cleaning?, that we need.

I've used yarrow for headaches, cayenne pepper tea for sinus headaches w/wo honey, dandelion leaves for greens & dandelion tops for salads & garnishes, onion tea for coughs & colds/sinus, yellowroot (goldnseal) for infections, ginseng for energy, penny royal for tea & also good dry to rid house/pets of fleas.

I collect yarrow and dandelion, red clover and rosehips. I buy others.

I would enjoy recipes and I could add a few of my own.

I'll start a recipe topic under the general team discussion forum and start listing some of the soap and lotion recipes.
I also grow most of my own medicinal herbs. I grow Calendula, Comfrey, Chamomile, St Johns Wort (first year for this one, it's been getting too hard to find)Yarrow, Sage , Rosemary, Thyme, Hops, Lavender, Mugwort, dandelion, basil, nettle, a few different varieties of mint and quite a few others. I use most of these in my herbal products I make and some of them medicinally or as nourishing infusions.
Some good ones for starting in pots would be Rosemary, Sage, Thyme, Chamomile and mints. When I do herbs in pots I usually put a few different ones in the same pot.

I grow mullein for asthma and allergy relief, rosemary for skin and sore muscles, lemon balm for a calming tea, sage for skin and hair. I'm always looking for other uses for the ones I have: Lavender; peppermint; spearmint; applemint; reg, lemon, lime and tai basil; thyme; parsley; bergamot; a licorice one I can't remember the name right now.

Welcome Ladies. There isn't much posting here, but maybe we can get things going.

I grow medicinal and culinary herbs in pots on a ledge outside my kitchen window. I use potting soil that comes with slow release fertilizer and mix with my own compost.

BTW, I'd be very interested in learning your ecipes for the soap, lotion, & other products, as well as any gardening tips that youd like to share.

I live in town, so very little gardening space. I thought about maybe doing some canister/pot gardening. Maybe a tea garden pot & some frequently used medicinal herbs, to start.

Hi, I'm Celia.

I've been herb gardening for many years. I went from a large plot to containers on a ledge outside my kitchen window at my apartment, but I will alway grow herbs.

I love fresh herbs for teas, potpourris, remedies and cooking. Summer to fall I have bunches hanging all over the house spreading their lovely scents.

I collect them in the woods, in fields, wherever I can find freebies.

Can't wait to share and learn.

Hello, my name is Rebecca aka flippyflamingo. In the past few years I have really gotten into herbs and their uses.

In 2007 I planted my first herb garden. It was beautiful, but then I saw a snake. I'm ashamed to say that I did not take care of it as I should have. This past summer I had a brilliant idea and that was to move the herb garden up to our back patio and plant the herbs in pots really high off the ground. It was fantastic. Anyway, I am excited to be a part of this team and I'm sure I will have many questions.
