The group that I go to on Mondays stresses making contacts with everyone and anyone who might be able to work into a job. I think 5 contacts a week would be a good start. This means talking to 5 actual people, not just sending an email.

Also, they ask at each meeting, what have you done for yourself and what have you done for someone else. Each day we need to do something for ourselves. I take an hour and go someplace to read a motivation, inspirational or informative book.

Everything happens for a reason!

I like this idea too...a big part of SparkPeople is making time for curiosity, finding our *passions* in life!

What are some of our new pursuits...? :-)

What about learning or doing 1 thing to improve yourself each day? This could be reading about or doing something you wouldn't normally do or read. Learning to ride a bike if you never had. Taking a finance or music class at your local community center, etc. Something to enrich your life and who you are.

Sometimes paying attention to our sleep hygiene can be an important strategy for building our resilience and stamina. Perhaps looking at a minimum amount of sleep to achieve...?

I'd like to see a goal for meditation/stress reduction of some kind. Even something as simple as "take three deep breaths" or "take a hot bath" would be nice. The new year with its new or renewed goals can get overwhelming, add that to the stress of being out of work and sometimes you get so uptight that you forget to breathe.

Or maybe that's just me.

I'll be setting up some basic goals for the team, like exercise minutes, fruit & veggie servings, etc. If you have any suggestions about other goals for our team, post them here. I'll set those up, too.
