The group that I go to on Mondays stresses making contacts with everyone and anyone who might be able to work into a job. I think 5 contacts a week would be a good start. This means talking to 5 actual people, not just sending an email.
Also, they ask at each meeting, what have you done for yourself and what have you done for someone else. Each day we need to do something for ourselves. I take an hour and go someplace to read a motivation, inspirational or informative book.
