PHANTOMWINGS, Hi, you must have your security settings on so that we can not send you a friend request. So you will probably want to go in and adjust that. Send me friend request if you would like after you do that as I won't be able to see it or accept it other wise from what I was told. I started out several months ago at 170 and now I have lost over 15 lbs and inches too. You can do this, I like what the others posted before me. Just take small steps and achievable small goals and keep making them more and more and you will do it. I do a lot of walking and running out side with or with out my dogs. I have a Wii System that I use to weigh myself and work out with. I have a resistance tube, and a basket ball and hoop to use. I have a jump rope and also do jumping jacks and lunges and other stuff like that all free in my home or just out side or in the neighborhood. No gyms or big money was laid out for my goals. I am little by little eating more whole foods and avoiding more and more greasy, fried, and processed foods. Eating more and more salads, veggies and fruits, fresh and frozen. Cutting back on portions and reading labels more especially to get portion and calorie info. I don't totally deny myself chocolate, chips, and stuff like that, instead it is all about in moderation for me. And if the family is going out for dinner, which we don't do that often, then I don't worry so much about what I am eating to the point that I can't enjoy it. I say you have to treat yourself once in a while, just remember in moderation. And just have fun, dance, play music that gets you going while you are doing housework or working out! That's great that you are getting started. I have a lot to lose too. I started at 280 back in May, now I'm 248. My advice is food prep. Find a few easy recipes that you enjoy and are easy to prepare. I keep kale-apple-mango smoothies in the fridge all the time. When I'm in a hurry I have a quick and easy meal to go. Good luck! Keep it up.

Don't ever be embarrassed about your size when out doing healthy things for yourself! That is a good thing!
When I first started I just walked around the block, and was lucky to get that far. I imagined that every one was looking out the window at me tsk tsk. As I started eating clean and walking every day further and further, I imagined them looking out the window and saying WOW! Is that the same woman? GOOD for her!! I thought sure I started seeing more of them out walking too. Yay me! I am motivating others now :))
My advise would be start slow, take it one healthy habit at a time. You can do this!!

Hi my name is dee. I am currently 338. Omgosh I hate that number. I have been heavy my whole life but I really want to change that. I have so many changes to make. I need to learn how to cook healthy(any advice would be great) I have started walking my son to the bus stop which is one mile each way and I hope someday to run that or ride a bike there with him. I used to love to hike but now I am embarassed to go because of my size. So I want to get to doing that as well. Any ideas on what I can do that doesn't require a gym membership would be great. Right now I am just walking and I just bout a resistance band but have never used one so it is a little daunting to me. Would appreciate support and looking forward to making some friends to share my journey with.
