from Orange County - I'm glad you've joined us! And don't worry, ALL of us have been in the same situation so we will definitely understand how you feel. I think the best way to turn things around is to pick one or two small goals to work on for awhile rather than trying to 'change everything' all at once - for instance, drink 8 glasses of water every day and go for a 30 minute walk [or even a 10 minute walk!!]. When that becomes 'habit,' you can pick another couple of goals to work on. This way it's less stressful, more likely to become PERMANENT and healthy over the long run - trying to do 'everything' and get quick results is stressful and makes us want to give up because it's so hard. Anyway, give it some thought, join a challenge or two and work on consistency for the best results!

Find your cause, whether it is your health, your children, looking better and use that to set your goals. Take small positive steps. Give up soda, drink lots of water. By changing your habit of exercise and eating you will be saving your family too.

Exercise 1st... Spark 2nd. Works for me!
Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.
Instead of giving myself reasons why I can't I give myself reasons why I can.
