I also live in Fortuna.....and to answer some of the others who replied I was in Crescent City last weekend and in Garberville the weekend before. I still say it is a small small world.
I am just starting training for the Disney marathon in Jan 2013 with my 2 sisters who live in Mich, have been running for a number of years and weigh 50 lbs less than I do. I do the Riverwalk almost daily - I find the water along the river relaxing, the cows relaxing in the fields are inspirational (not to be like them anymore) and the walk/jog is almost always pleasant.
I've been at this for almost a month and have lost 10 lbs, can go 60 minutes without stopping, and can actually breathe thru the whole thing. I have some pretty hefty goals for myself and find tons of inspiration through this site. see you on the trail.....-V-
