from Orange County! Reading your post, I really identified with you - I also carry weight 'all over' so look less 'fat' than I really am, although I really do need to lose weight! I also have problems with flour and sugar products - they are addictive! I tend to do better if I just completely eliminate both but do find myself going back. A great ice cream substitute is to get Fage Total 0% Greek Yogurt and mix it with frozen berries and Splenda. I wish you the best with your journey!

I am so like you in lots if ways. Not working much and problems with sugar and I don't gain weight in just one place. All over so not always do I look over weight . ! I did go thru a bad time with eating and couldn't exercise cause of hamstring now I am back to walking and doing other exercises. It will be hard but I find not to buy bad stuff that I just can't stop eating and find healthier snacks with not a lot of sugar. Like baked apples and such. So don't give up you can do it. Just figure put what will work for you. !!

I'm currently 170 and I carry it all over, so I don't look overweight but I am at 5'8. I gained about 10 to 20 lbs over the last 3 years and I'm dying to shed it while getting in shape. I have always played sports thought I'm not currently. I'm unemployed and have too much time to sit around and snack.
I try snacking on things that aren't that bad, like rice crackers from TJ's. I started with corn chips which aren't great. But I seem to be sensitive to gluten so corn and rice are better. When I eat gluten I feel all puffy and nasty.
I wonder if I can manage to adjust my eating in a way that I actually loose weight. I feel overweight, so it's not just that I don't like the way I look. I have started exercising with the XBox Shapeup Kinect stuff and it's great. I have a weightloss app that has 8 weeks of weight loss. I have gone through all of it and have now started over, and am on week 2. I had a break the first time when I went away and then got sick with the flu.
It seems like when I top eating food with gluten and cut down sugar it makes the biggest difference in feeling like I start to make progress. I am addicted to sugar. Yesterday I bought ice cream. I wonder how long I can let it sit in the fridge without eating it. I am trying the sugar challgenge. I feel like if I got people involved with it and so I would have to tell people if I ate sugar it would be more of a motivation to stop eating sugar.
