Try some positive self talk. Cheer yourself up by telling yourself a few things you do well. I agree with everyone who has posted. Take small steps....but do something! You will feel better about yourself every time you make a positive choice.
If it would help make yourself accountable for your choices. Tell someone what you are doing and then check in with them when you have done it!!!!

Thank you for the encouragement and congratulations on your weight loss. It seems like it will take forever. My negative feelings keep nslipping in. I have trouble doing little things at a time as all I keep thinking is there is so much to lose.emoticon

Welcome from Anza,Calif. Baby steps is all you need. Try walking a few min. a day .even just to the end of the driveway is a start. Drink lots of water or tea etc. everything counts. Also write everything down you eat.(my failing) Good luck! You can do it!One day at a time or even one hour at a time.what ever it takes. Good luck! You can do it!PS: break your weight into 5LB goals ,don't look at the end picture.5 LBS looks better than say 50 LBS.

emoticon from Orange County. The easiest way to do this is to set a couple of small goals and work on those until they become 'habit,' then choose another one or two small goals to work on - that way it will have a chance to become a permanent lifestyle change and the weight you lose will stay gone - when we try to do too much at once or lose weight too fast, it may seem like it's working but it's easy to get off track and go back to the old ways.

As for being overwhelmed, I think most of us feel that way at once - there is a lot of info here on SparkPeople but you don't have to learn all of it in a day, just take baby steps with everything and it will be less overwhelming, less stressful and much easier. Good luck on your journey!

Hi. I am new and struggling. This is all kind of overwhelming for me but I am trying. I am depressed but trying to lose weight if that is even possible.
