Nice Job RAYSKI178! I think swimming is an awesome way to lose weight and get strong. Being a swimmer myself, when I feel a little chunky or unmotivated, swimming is always my go-to exercise. Isn't that funny that I'm totally comfortable in a speedo in front of strangers, but if I feel too fat- I can barely put on my workout clothes and hop on a treadmill? Go figure.
I am new to the team and to sparkpeople. I am trying to get back into the pool on a more consistent schedule. I tend to swim here and there and never make any progress toward getting stronger in the pool. My goal is to get my distance up to around 3400-3600 meters 4 times a week. Right now I'm getting in around a mile. I'm okay with this distance now; I'm going to build on it slowly so I don't burn out. I'd love to share swimming tips and workouts with you all.
I am new to the team but looking forward to the challenges. I have swam between 30-90 minutes a day, 73 out of the last 77 days (4 off days). My goal is weight loss, but I do enjoy becoming a better swimmer. I am swimming a mile in about 43 minutes and would like to better that. Since December 1st, I have lost 60 lbs from a combination of diet, swimming and other exercises (eliptical, treadmill, stationary bike). I have about 50 lbs more to lose and plan on using these challenges to help me reach my goal! Thanks
