Thanks for your nice note. I ended up leaving work and getting 4 hrs. sleep in at least, and we had a nice French dinner in Old Town, Alexandria. Then my hubby spoiled me with many gifts later, 2 paperbacks, 2 polo shirts, a gold necklace, a food scale (for my diet) and some electronic dance mats to use with our XBox 360. That should be fun!
Yes, I hope to have more energy and get back to swimming soon, even if it's not with the swim team!
(i.e. like this weekend!) Have a nice week! Carla

hello carla, i hope you'll get someone to take a closer look at your cough. yes, a lot of doctors just seem to be interested in shoving you out the door with a "quick fix" that doesn't work.
but remember us if you feel better and are fit to swim.
and happy belated birthday! i hope you still got a nice evening with your husband despite your cough. take care!

I am going to have to pass on swimming or being on this thread until I get help for this cough. I coughed the entire night and then came to work on my birthday and I feel awful. I just want to go home. Am waiting from personnel to see if they have a relief secretary because if I can't go home for a nap, I won't be able to go out to dinner with my husband because I'll be too tired. It's too bad most of the doctors are terrible that I see and can't seem to presribe anything for a cough that has lasted over 6 months now. So take are and good luck everyone. Carla

I stopped swimming on the masters team near my home in Alexandria since getting this cough that wouldn't quit, but have started swimming on my own. I want to wait until I've lost about 40 lbs. before rejoining. Call it pride or fear of coughing a lot again, but I decided I'd rather wait until I'm under 200 and have a flatter waist before swimming. But I can start going up the Rec Center on my own, or swim at our outdoor apartment pool on weekends to try and make 24 miles of the Amazon. I like challenges so I'll see what I can do. I grew up on a swim team from the age of 5 through college but obviously stopped that intense exercise as I got older or I would have never gotten this out of shape. There are lots of reasons why I kept gaining but now I am learning how to control my portions and stick to a "plan" and so I am finally losing. Just wanted to say hello ... have to get back to work now! Carla
