My Name is Stacia. I am new to Sparks. I stumbled across it by accident. I am 31 years old. I have three beautiful daughters ages 2, 4, and 6 years old. I am currently going back to Collage as well. It is quite the under taking for me with 3 girls in tow, but I am really loving it! Im working towards getting my Paraprofessional Degree in Special Education. I've struggle with Weight my entire life. Always seemed to loose huge amounts while Pregnant (yay me!!!) but once baby came, I always put it right back on and then some. I am just beginning in my journey. Today, I clean out my fridge and pantry and hit the grocery store for healthy friendly foods. I enrolled in a fitness class at the collage as well. If Im taking it as a class, then what choice do I have but to remain motivated, right?! My plan is to get an extra 1-2 hours a week in of fitness on top of my class.
I'm seeking like minded individuals who can help encourage and support me along this journey. Staying motivated will be my biggest challenge! I'd also would like to encourage and help motivate anyone else who needs it if I can.
Thanks, Happy weight loss!
Non-traditional here! Going for my AAS in Paralegal studies. Always tough to juggle family and school, but I'm working on it!
I just joined sparkpeople- I am also going for a nursing degree at 54-not easy. I am going into my 3rd year of college- fall semester. I will be able to apply next spring for the nursing program and pray that I am accepted. Trying to get the weight off so I will be able to preform better.
Yes this is definitely me. I am 37 and attempting to earn a degree in nursing. Fall semester starts August 23rd. This will be my 3rd year of school this time. I have about 67 credits under my belt all completed at the age of 32 plus. And let me tell you, not the easiest thing when you are working and have a family besides.
The definition of NON-TRADITIONAL STUDENT states he or she is:
1. a student who is OLDER than the historically typical undergraduate student (usually aged 18-23) and / or
2. a student who is attending college as an older adult ( 23 years old and beyond) rather than directly AFTER finishing high-school.
If this is YOU, you're most definitely in the right place!
