Want to introduce myself! I am Lynn Wilson and one of you new co-leaders. I hope to get this group active again so we can get fit and feel great together! I would love some input on what you would like to see on this page. You can send me a PM or post it here. :)
I love that the team is being active! Thanks Kristin! I used to live in Maine and miss it! I was on MDI.
I have twin 4 year old boy/girl. I love the crunch life but don't always manage to do what I know I should! I believe in a family bed, baby wearing (that was a bit of a challenge with twins!) child led weaning, attachment parenting, green living (one of the areas I struggle with), and raising socially aware empathetic, open minded kids. This is all so challenging, especially living in the Midwest! It will be nice to have you all to turn to/share with!
I have one suggestion. The 2 teams I have been on that are very active both have a chat area that is a sticky topic. It's a place to check in and say hi, instead of starting new topics for everything. They are a lot of fun. Like meeting up at the coffee shop! Maybe we could try it.
I look forward to getting to know you all!

I am so excited at the prospect of this team being active again. I have been in the team pretty much since it started and I have learned so much from everyone. I am not a mom yet but we are working on it. I am striving to live a crunchy life but I am far from where I want to be and a lot of it is because I am having difficulty convincing my husband of changing, but we are slowly getting there.

Hi, everyone! I'm new to the forum, too. I hope there's some good activity here - I could use the interaction with other mamas losing weight.
I will start by saying a little 'pardon' - I'm not as open as others about some personal info, so I may be a bit vague at times. I feel SP is safe, but my hubby was in the intelligence business for many years and is very cautious about posting details on the internet in any form.
That being said, I, too, have 4 little ones, homeschool, etc. etc. I think there are some of us that have an awful lot in common! I am working toward weaning my kids off of so much TV (my own fault), and myself off of mindless eating and finishing their plates! Over the last two years our family has gone through some major changes and it has stressed me over the top! I ate to cope with it all, and then a miscarriage and another surprise pregnancy just added to the weight. So, now our newest little one is here and I'm ready to get going and get this gross excess body off of me! Of course, I'm also down with hip tendonitis, thanks to my little butterball while I was still pregnant. We're going on three months now, and it hasn't healed up. I'm waiting (impatiently) for it to clear up, because until it does, the doc says no exercise! GRRR!!!! So, I'm working on staying in my calories and adjusting my diet to a more healthy one in the mean time. I've been noticing this week that even when I'm in my range, my fat intake is way over the recommended amount. I need to take a closer look and see what I can do about that...
Nice to meet you all! Many blessings, and hope to hear from you soon!

Hello! I was so happy to see a post from this group! I joined this group right away when I found it too, and was dissappointed that it didn't seem very active. I have been on SP for years now off and on, but have had a baby in that time too. It looks like we have many similar beliefs. I am a Mama to 4. I breastfeed, babywear, and live as green as we can. My situation is a little different though because my husband does not share all the same views as I do... especially dealing with food which makes my journey... well complicated anyway. I have recently lost my inspiration with all the holiday(and some personal)madness, so maybe having an active group leader can help re-inspire me? Here's hoping! Good luck to you and welcome!

Hello, fellow mamas! My name is Kristin and I am relatively new to SP. I found this group and joined right away as it is right up my alley! I wanted to be more active, and since the co-leader spot was open, I thought, you can't be more active than that! So I would like to introduce myself and get things going again in here.
My name is Kristin. I am 36 years old and a mother of five. I am also a student Midwife. I believe in a few core principles:
Breastfeeding Cloth Diapering Green Living Local Food, Slow Food Frugality Homeschooling Homebirth & Natural Birth Vegetarianism Attachment parenting Non-Circumcision
Ok, more than a few! I most firmly believe that everyone has choices. My choice may not be right for you and your family, so I do trust that mamas will do what is best for their babes. Just because I do something one way, does not mean anyone else has to!
I am a very open-minded person, love conversation and thought provoking discussions. Please feel free to check out my SparkPage and friend me. I want this group to be active, a resource as well as a mini community. I will be making some small changes, so let me know if there is anything you mamas want to see (or not see!)! I look forward to hanging out with you!
