Take one day at a time - the first thing would be to read "The Spark" book. It is very informative and gives lots of suggestions and help. The Spark cookbook is also very good with receipes that are easy and fullfilling.
Good luck with your goals and keep in touch with the group

Hello everyone, my name is Tom and I'm 33 with a 14 year old son. I'm currently at my heaviest weight and I'm sick and tired of being overweight and an embarrassment to myself and my girlfriend. I've used all the excuses I could in the past for being fat I'm too busy, I'm tired, my knee hurts(ACL replaced), my back hurts(fractured vertebrae), I got too much work to do ect ect ect I could go on for days here. It's time I manned up and took the blame and took control of my future.
My Personal Goals: Be able to fit in all the adult rides at Hershey park by the summer of 2013 Run the Zombie 5k in Oct 2013 Start going to karate again
I currently have 149lbs to lose.
I'm becoming healthier for my son, my fiance and most importantly for myself.
