Hi, Jess. Saw your new post on the keystone team. I just joined last week. I thought I would just use the site to track my numbers, but I am finding the stories and tips from others very motivating and helpful.
I am 53 and work full time, also. I find fitting exercise in during the week, hard, too. I often say that I commute between my two incompetences: just no way to get it all done.
A friend recently convinced me to bring hand weights to work (I have a desk job) and use them when I'm on the phone. Let your imagination wander to see what you can fit in.... Good luck!!
@creative_momma - Aw, thanks! I wish we could go to more often. We usually only get to go every other year at best.
That's what I'm hoping for...Like I said that I'm still new and still learning about all of this. But I need friends and that encouragment. My husband supports me...but doesn't really encourage me as much as I'd like, the way that I'd like.
I'm from Altoona, PA. It's about 2.5-3 hours from York. I know exactly where you are, because my brother lives there! He's actually a firefighter for York. In fact my family and I are taking a trip to Gettysburg this weekend. (We love Gettysburg!) And because it's so close, my brother will be coming over or we'll be going to him!

to SP. I lack motivation myself most of the time, but SP is a great place to be when you feel like that. So many amazing stories and other people who share the same issues as you do.
What part of PA are you from. I live in York Pa which is South Central PA. I look forward to seeing you around the boards. Make sure you take the time to read other member blogs and check out all the great recipes too.

Hello. My name is Jess. I'm 28 years old, a wife to a wonderful man, a mother of a 2 year old and a full time Physical Therapist Assistant. I joined SparkPeople because I need some help with motivation. I'd like to lose 30-50lbs. (I know it's a wide range, but I will be extatic with anything I'm able to accomplish) My husband tells me all the time that I am perfect as I am and that he doesn't want/need me to lose any weight. He doesn't understand that I'm unhappy with me, therefore I want to lose the weight. I want to lose the weight for me, but also for my son. He is so high energy and he always wants to play...but I'm so exhausted all the time that I find myself sitting and telling him, "oh Mommy's going to sit here, bring me the ball" or whatever..and I'm disgusted with myself later for that. I want to be a more hands on Mom that he loves to play with and do things with. All of that being said, I need some help with getting motivated. Because I work full time, I come home and cook dinner, play with my son, do some housework, then when my son goes to bed, the last thing on my mind is "Lets Exercise!" Uh--no. I would love to make some new friends that will be with me on my journey and keep me focused on it as well. So, here's hoping for a successful journey!
