Welcome to the team! My son will eat anything but my daughter doesn't like vegetables. I make spaghetti and tacos with TVP, it is cheaper than hamburger meat and the wife and kids couldn't tell the difference. When I first told them that was beans and not meat in the spaghetti my daughter was freaked out but now they prefer the TVP kind.
I've found without question that the best way to lead others to a more plant-based diet is by example - to lead with your fork, not your mouth. ~Bernie Wilke
My 2 boys pretty much avoid ALL veggies like the plague. I may get them to eat a potato or sliced cucumber/celery with ranch, but they won't touch any of the meals I make if it has veggies in it. They also ADORE hot dogs. I remember one day they went through a whole 8 pack in one day. My boys are 3 and 5, so their tastes are constantly changing. I just wish they'd at least try the stuff I make!
My name is Christina. I guess I've always been a part-time vegetarian (or more accurately a part-time carnivore). I never really liked too much meat, it always kinda grossed me out in some ways. But then again, I never really ate too many good veggies either....I guess I was more of a Junk Fooditarian. I came across Veganism and Vegetarianism a few years back, but didn't really try to eat that way until 7 months ago when I heard about Juicing and how eating a Vegan/Vegetarian diet is so much healthier (not to mention cruelty free). But I am still learning how to cook that way for a family of four on government help and picky kids, so it's really hard to quit meat "cold turkey" (pun intended). So for right now I'm a Flexitarian. I eat meat when it suits me or when I can get a better deal on it than more veggies. I try to eat mostly vegitarian with meat (at one meal only) every couple of days. I would like to be full Vegan one day, but I think I may need more education and help to get there.
