I am a full time vegetarian now and got there by making sure I only ate one server of meat in a meal with lots of vegetable and then slowly cut back on the number of meals a week that included meat. It was pretty painless that way.
I have found that I can use TVP in place of hamburger meat in meals and my family can not tell the difference. I also use sliced tempeh in place of chicken.
I would love to visit Ireland. The town I live in here in Texas was founded by Irish settlers. Unfortunately most of them were killed by the Comanche before Fort Worth was constructed, but we still have a large part of the population of Irish decent. My family has an entry in the St. Patrick's Day parade next weekend and I will once again be wearing my kiss me i'm Irish t-shirt. My wife hates it. Once the parade is over and the beer begins to flow in the pubs too many women want to kiss the Irishman ; )

Hi Maria! I'm trying to do the same thing! I'm so so so sick of eating meat! I thought this team would be a great way to slowly ween me and my family from it. Trying to cut meat out completely would be a huge shock for my bf and probably my kids too! But I think all in all it is the best way to go! I recently joined the team a couple days ago. So I'm just now getting started, I didn't know there was an app for easy veg recipes. I'm going to go check it out and see if my android has it! Good Luck on your journey to being a vegetarian!!

I've been thinking about becoming vegetarian for years, but never really believed I could stick to it. I absolutely adore vegetables and fruit, but it's been ingrained in me that meat should form part of every meal.
Lately, after a horrible gastro illness, I find I've gone completely off meat. Soooo, I've decided to become vegetarian - well, at least most of the time. My poor boyfriend is horrified - the thought of not eating meat is incomprehensible to him!
I've just downloaded Sparkpeople's Easy Vegetarian Meals to my Kindle and can't wait to start cooking!
