Hi all--tried going ovolacto only to actually GAIN weight and have blood sugars end up crazier than ever. I'm doing much better now that I've added back some fish and seafood; b/c their protein is less concentrated than poultry and meat I can stil eat a satisfying portion w/o going over my protein goals (80 gm/day divided into 3 meals and 2 snacks). Plus, eating out without eating wheat (allergic) proved to be almost impossible except for Asian (love it but too many carbs), Mexican (same problem), and Indian (REALLY love it but too many carbs and too much fat). Trying many plans (Radiant Recovery, Zone, South Beach, etc etc etc) other than SPs diabetic plan, I've either been battling constant hypoglycemia (no meds--my own natural insulin production) or my weight hasn't budged. So, sadder but wiser, back to 80 protein/160carbs/30 fat (a little low but I lose best with the fat that low)--will let the group know how it goes..
