Sounds like your mind is in the right place for it - you're doing it because you want to. You know it makes you feel and look better. I'd say do what works for you. If you actually like meat, or certain meats, keep them in your diet occasionally. If you want to cut them out entirely, that's great too - just make sure you're getting enough protein somehow. When I started to not eat meat (good grammar huh?)....I lessened my portions. That way it was such a shock, but also not to offend anyone and eventually everyone just got used to me not eating meat. I quit drinking AND smoking last November. For me, I was a closet smoker. And alcohol for me was like Lays potato chips...I couldn't have just one. I had to have the whole bag then go out for another bag. So for me there was/is no 1-2 . My son enjoys meat so I feel ya on trying to limit your meat with a carnivore in the house!

Hi there! I was vegan for nearly ten years up until about a year ago, when I started dating my boyfriend. I guess I got caught up in the romance and changes in my life that come with being in new relationship, and I gradually reincorporated meat into my diet. I miss my plant-based food choices, because I felt and looked so much better. Today is my birthday, I'm 34. Boyfriend's family has planned an amazing celebration meal, so I'm going to eat meat tonight. But I'd like to gradually UNincorporate meat again! Moving back to a plant-based lifestyle is a part of all the changes I'd like to make in my lifestyle (Kind of like New Year's Eve in June?? LOL). The others include twenty minutes of daily exercise, kick my social smoking habit for good, and decrease the amount of alcohol I drink to within healthy limits (1-2 glasses of wine a few times a week, if that). Any advice for me? Anyone else out there with similar gaols or experiences?
