Thank you both for your ideas and suggestions - I have purchased some healthier snacks including protein and I am going to buy a bigger lunch cooler too since I have late days at least twice a week. I need to start planning ahead more, I used to be so good at that and now it just doesn't happen and then I'm stuck eating junk.

It sounds like kind of a stressful time in your life, even if the changes are positive. Too much churn at one time just kind of throws us off. So #1 is let your life calm down or do what you can to calm down. If you know that it's going to ease up when you finally get settled in your new house, look forward to that. How much longer til that happens? You don't want to live on fast food until that day arrives. There's a lot of fast, healthy food you can buy and make. Nothing is as quick as driving through a fast-food drive-thru, but avoid doing that if you want to stay healthy and not gain weight. Or let yourself do it just once a week and then order the healthiest thing on their menu.

emoticon ! I have found myself, like you, gaining when I have big changes in my life. Try to identify one thing at a time that you can change, like picking one meal per day that you can improve. I am tempted by fast food too if I don't plan ahead, so I make sure to have a lunch bag packed with things to nibble on throughout the day. When I had a long commute, I would come home SO TIRED, so I would make sure to plan dinner ahead of time to prevent that 'I don't even care what I eat as long as it is fast' mentality.

Best of luck to you in making changes! SP is a great place to find motivation when you are lacking it!

Hi there, I've been a semi-vegetarian (eating fish/seafood but no other types of meat) for about 13 years.

I'm a part-time yoga teacher and I also work at a full-time job. I split up with my husband last August and moved in with my boyfriend a few months ago. I have lost weight previously on weight watchers but have been putting on weight recently with stress and lifestyle changes. I want to lose about 15 lbs.

I have moved 3 times since August and will probably be moving again (hopefully permanently this time!) in the next few months. Most of my stuff is in storage, including my kitchen stuff, which makes it challenging to cook the healthful meals that I used to. Plus my new boyfriend is a total meat and potatoes guy and inhales pastries and junkfood. I think he is one of those skinny-fat types as he works at a fairly physical job.

I also now live outside of the city where I work, do most of my activities, and where my parents live, so I'm finding myself spending more time commuting. With the commuting and late days I often grab fast food if I haven't planned ahead.

I think that some of my lifestyle changes have been making it difficult for me to establish a regular routine, both with food and exercise, plus I sometimes allow myself to get sucked in by all the junk food that is in the house.

Ideally, I hope to find a "buddy" with similar goals and challenges where we can be accountable to each other.

Looking forward to hearing any ideas, suggestions, from people with similar experiences!
