I need a refresher on soy... back when I was "pescatarian" (why can't I write this funny word without quotes???), I ate a lot of soy, and then I remember reading an article about possible thyroid issues with overconsumption of soy, so I backed off. Don't you hate it when you read about this miracle food, so you go all ape about it, only to find out it can be bad??? All things in moderation... except... LARD! LOL

My husband insists that we drink soy milk, and I eat Boca Burgers frequently which are made from soy and have been trying to incorporate tofu in more dishes. Am I overdoing the soy??? I just read the SP article about soy not being all it is cracked up to be and for certain women, should be avoided

I found the team a few days ago on a Spark friends page. Growing up I never really liked the taste of meat or how it looked. I kept thinking about animals every time I eat a piece of meat. But in our house, it was either eat what was cooked or go to bed hungry. I'm 20 y/o now about to be 21(in a number of weeks) and I still can't get certain images out of my head, of how animals land our plates for consumption. A few weeks ago, I gave up eating red meat(pork,etc) and poultry(chicken, turkey,etc) and now I'm down to eating just Fish, along with Fruits, Vegetables, Whole Grains,etc. I also gave up drinking cows milk a year ago and started drinking Soy Milk and Almond Milk. I couldn't be better. But now I'm trying to give up dairy cheese and yogurt which is also dairy based. I'm lactose intolerant and dairy products in general just doesn't mix with my body. But I'm having a hard time giving it up.
Do they make Soy Dairy Products? In general, I feel like with time, I'll possibly skip being Vegetarian and go straight to being Vegan. It's just hard with foods you know and love, and making it meatless or vegetarian/vegan. Either way, I'm happy to have found this team.
I forgot to add that I don't eat fish every day. I either eat Tuna Sandwiches, Fried Fish(with a salad), Baked Fish. But most of the time, I eat meatless dishes most the week and/or use Mock Meats and my family can't tell the difference! haha!
