There are a lot of really good vegetarian cook books. My favorites are "Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone" by Deborah Madison, and "Vegetable Heaven" by Molly Katzen. Molly Katzen has several cook books out--they're all good, by this one is my fave. Also good in "Moosewood Low Fat Favorites" by the Moosewood Collective.
I agree with the idea of babysteps. I joined this team several months ago and have been trying to incorporate more vegetarian dishes, raw fruits and veggies in my menu planning. It is not always easy since my husband is a meat eater but I am trying new recipes and am using meat has an optional item rather than a must have. I have found a number of good recipes on the sparkrecipes.com website. I also read the book "Eat to Live" by Dr. Joel Fuhrman. His total approach is a little too radical for me to take all at once but I have been gradually incorporating his ideas.

Hi Deborah, I just joined this team yesterday too. I am on the vegan/vegetarian team for information etc, but I am not likely to become totally vegetarian or vegan. That is why I was so happy to find this team. Just stay relaxed and learn little bits at a time. This is a life journey, not cramming for a test. SP's whole message is to take baby steps in the direction you want to go. I am also looking forward to hearing from people with ideas and recipes

Wow, so much information my head feels like to explode! I am just not sure where to start! I need to do this and do it right for the first time in my life! I am a bit overwhelmed but willing and needing to trudge on through into the unknown and feared in some respects. Trying to follow vegan menus but not always clear on what I am doing. I think I might fall into the part time vegan area as I do occassionally like meat. Just not often and not much. Any help comprehending the menu/planning options would be great! Thank you all!
