I just came back, so I am not anywhere near my goal yet. But I started a medically managed weight loss program with the weight loss shakes and everything. It's a big adjustment; I thought nothing would make me give up my mountain dew! I am also dealing with needing to lose weight so I can have back surgery to fuse a couple of vertebrae in my back.

Glad EVER-HOPEFUL shared the challenge with us. I have made a couple of posts so far.
I hope you are enjoying yourself during this busy time. This morning 14 of us went to our woods at 7:30 am to cut Christmas trees. We were there early to beat the storm that is headed our way. I also got the opportunity to play some games with the grandchildren. Now I better get busy and get the lights on the tree.

I will also be posting a fun Challenge, which revolves around The Twelve Days of Christmas song.
"On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me - a partridge in a pear tree."
The First Day part of the Challenge asks for you to supply a healthy pear Recipe.
"On the second day of Christmas, my true love gave to me - 2 Turtle doves ! The Second Day part of the Challenge asks you to find 2 love songs that are slow enough (not TOO slow) - to do your cool-down, or stretching exercises today.
"On the third day of Christmas, my true love gave to me 3 French hens
Day 3 of the Challenge calls for something French - a joke, a story, a Recipe, or something interesting about someone French !
"On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me - 4 calling birds !
We will be the calling birds, in this part of the Challenge ! I haven't checked in here for a while, and it is really nice to see so many of us around! Helen, you seem to have been the one keeping us going - good for you! I have had my ups and downs. Still at -40 pounds, which is good, but not where I want to be. However, I am loving buying size 14 instead of 18! and shopping in the misses dept and not the women's! I have had a few injuries, mostly my own fault! But I keep on going, and I know I am so much healthier than I was. And that is really what it is all about, right??

Thanks, Helen! I am glad to see that we are still here. And yes, it is HARD work. But when you see your friends and family struggle every day with health issues caused by their weight, it is an extra inspiration, for sure! I wish I didn't have those particular reasons for working, but at least I feel like I will not have the same problems as I get older.

I've been out of town for a couple of weeks, but I have been active with SP since the beginning. Have not been as successful lately as I was initially, but have learned to maintain my 40 lb loss, which is a feat in itself. Still want to lose 40 more, so making this a new beginning! Hi folks! I am still here and have not posted to this group forum before - sorry! (I have responded to some message board hot topics though). I have lost 62 pounds since start date and have been "idling" around the just under 200lb mark for a few months now. In fact my weight stayed around 200-203/204 from Christmas last year til about April/May of this year!! very frustrating as I had still been exercising like a fiend and watching my food intake carefully. I think my body set-point was around 200 and so it was "stalled" there not knowing what to do. I haven't been below that point since having kids (last one 18 years ago)...so no wonder my body didn't/doesn't know what to do. I have now taken the approach to not watch the scale and to just keep on exercising and eating well. I think eventually I will win the battle (no matter how painfully slow that will be). I am trying to focus more on the good habits I have acquired and to attempt to see this as my new lifestyle. I have my moments (sweet cravings that are usually brought on by stress or some emotional issue) but I have been able to hop back on the wagon so far. I figure if my weight has been a battle all my adult life - I should be a little more patient about how quickly it comes off. Good luck everyone! My personal goal is to try and lose another 38 (hopefully by the end of this year or sooner)

I'm still here...I have a ways to go before I reach my goal. I need to lose another 50lbs. I was hoping to reach it by October 1st 2010 but that time is creeping up on me. Yikes!! I may need another 6 months. So I am still plugging along.
Maybe we can track our fitness minutes, strenght training, freggies, or something like that? I do all of these anyways.

I'm still here. Not as active at times as I am trying not to count every single calorie- as I tend to get obsessive. I have been eating based on how I feel and trying to pick healthy foods. Doesn't always work, but I am learning! So far down about 15 pounds. Its these last 5 that are the hardest- it's where I have been for a while now- losing and gaining them.

I am definitely still here! Maybe some more team members could join in on some of the threads, it is fun to see your ideas. It is slow going with the weight but I have met some great people here and learned many things. Just have to put some of those things into better practice. Good Luck Team!!

Im here.Guys I am not doing well with losing weight.I started at 197 am now at 191..says the scale and thats been since January.I am now on a meal plan and doing insanity workouts.I need to lose 40 lbs by november.Please help me

It would be more acurate to say that I'm back. I weighed myself on Sunday to find I weigh a whopping 63.5 kg. My target weight is 55 kg. That puts me almost 20 pounds over.
The last few weeks have been emotionally very stressful, and emotional stress causes fatigue to the point of sleeping 12-15 hours a day.
Anyway, high time I got back on the horse.

Congratulations, Helen , on being our new Leader ! I'm still here, too ! I've lost 20 pounds, but still need to lose 30 more ! I enjoy swimming ! It keeps me cool, especially in this hot weather. I have M.S. ; there are a lot of things that I am not able to do. I'm glad I can swim ! I hope that everyone will have a nice, safe Summer !
