Hello! I'm Gemma and I'm 27 years old. I live in Lancaster, England and work in a library. I love books, music, film, manga and good food ;) I joined SparkPeople a while ago and found it really useful but due to problems with my health had to postpone my weight loss plans. I still have health problems (joint hypermobility,foot problems, joint pain) and use crutches to get around at the moment so exercise is difficult; am waiting on x-ray results! So it's all down to the diet at the moment!! I currently weigh 175 pounds (12.5 stone)which doesn't sound too bad but I'm only 5 foot 2inches! I'm aiming to get down to 133 pounds (9.5 stone) which is at the top of my healthy weight bracket and a healthy BMI! My ideal outcome is to do this by my next birthday in August next year but I DEFINITELY don't want to be fat at 30 :) I've started using Spark People again as I find that it really shows me where I'm going wrong. I'm vegetarian so the food I eat is usually quite healthy but my main problems seem to be portion size, eating at odd times due to work and too much pasta (I LOVE IT!) Also my boyfriend is an amazing cook and always convinces me to try his tasty creations! I've not used these forums before so I hope talking to supportive people will mean that I'm successful in my goals, and hopefully I can help you guys too! Nice to meet you all! Gemma
Hello and welcome to our new team leader. My name is Bryan. I'm 45 (when the heck did that happen?) and I live in Virginia. When I started spark I was 204. I got down to 175 and had hovered in the 175-178 range for a few months until recently. I've been having terrible snack cravings and feel absolutely famished by the time dinner rolls around. I'm up to 181 now and I'm trying to become more active in the site again to help finish losing the weight I set out to lose. Fortunately spark has taught me that my weight gain is not the end of the world and I can get through this.
I am a 30-something mother of two preschoolers, a nurse, and a student. At my heaviest, I weighed in at 220 pounds, currently I'm at 154 (ish), with an overall goal of 140. I am hoping to be pretty close to that by the new year!

I've lost 12lbs since I started trying. I live in Chicago and work as a registered Nurse. Rock-n-roller during the wekends with my band. Look forward to meeting some of you.
My name is Amanda. Im 29 years old, Im married and have 4 very spoiled cats. When I joined SP, I weighed 265 pounds. I have lost 23 pounds so far. I got off track for awhile, but now Im back and ready to lose more weight. Im sick and tired of being fat, and want to feel good about myself!
Hi , i'm Sherrie ,33 yrs old .I'm a wife and a mother to 4 and a grandmother to 1 .I live in Maryland . I have about 24 lbs to lose... about 3 yrs ago I lost 62.5 lbs by eating right and goig to Curves after I moved to the Western part of Maryland I gained back 24 lbs of that so that is why I joined SP back in March ...I need help and can't do it by myself .

My name is Claire (obviously) and I am getting increasingly slender. Down 20 lbs from Sparking since March 27th, and now weigh 163lbs. As I'm 5ft 10ins, that's not bad and I'm now within a few pounds of goal weight, with a "Normal" BMI of 23.something.
I live in the UK (Essex) and have two teenage "children" (15 and 18), husband, 3 cats and a dog, all in a decent sized house on the edge of a village. Very rural.
I've been good with diet, less good with exercise. Still drink a bit of wine, but much less than before, and less often. I expect I'll put some weight back on over Christmas, but intend to lose it again by Easter at latest.
