I'm still here...just haven't posted much on the forums these days...I am going to make sure that I will do what I can to keep in touch with everyone!! It's hard but I did drop from 217 and now I'm 185! I'm slowly getting there and really want to see myself get to my goal of 140 before my birthday! :)

Hopefully you are still on track with your small steps :) I didn't get to track over the weekend or even yesterday, but I am pretty sure I stayed with the program. Have a happy Tuesday!

Rock on!!! That's great!!!

I've decided daily goals are going to be my thing for a little big :) Yesterday was to go the day witout pop, today I'll broaden that to no Carbination because a Rockstar sounds awesome right now but my teeth are in very poor shape so if I can kick that one then I'm hitting 2 birds with 1 stone :D

Thank you :)

Yes, its the baby steps that matter when you have a goal. Changing one little thing every week, keeping your eyes on the prize.

Are you tracking your food intake? That's the most important thing you can do. And checking in here is very important too, because we all need some support!

Here's to a nice loss for your next weigh in!

Not sure whats going on with me... Watching what I'm doing, apparantly not close enough because the scale keeps going up. Need to start making myself get outside and excercyse but I'm still REALLY good at excuses (especially it's cold and I'm tired and I just want to got to bed...)

BUT, On the positive, I've started eating more actual meals rather than grab whatever's handy, so that's good. And eating more at home rather than fast food every night.

Sometime's it's the baby steps :)

I'm excited to hear about your weigh in!!!

Tomorrow is my weigh in and I am hoping for a pound and a half to add to the 3 pounds last week. This week wasn't as tough, but yesterday and today were challenging. How about you?

Hi Chola

I am coming back too - I gained back all but one little pound. So sorry to hear about your divorce. And the depression was all too familiar to me earlier in the year. Take my hand and lets do this together

I'm coming back emoticon It was a very trying year after I left. I gained back everything I lost and then some, went though a divorce, and my depression has really flared up with a vengance. But this year is going to be good. I'm back here with lots of great support and I'm going to focus on doing for myself as well as my children.

I am still here myself, but I have not been active like I should be in regards to the teams I have joined; although I plan on changing that. My wife has had such success with Spark People so I know it is possible. From this point on I will be heard of a lot on Spark People.
I do have an update. I have lost what I feel is a lot of pounds since joining Spark People. I have lost close to 30 pounds, although this is only since late last year. With the people I have met on Spark People and my wife I know I will accomplish what I want; even if it takes a while.

10 pounds is GREAT!!!! Please continue to share what you accomplish! It's very encouraging to hear!

As for me, I'm still on board but the only sign of progress I've made is a 23 week streak in my comittment to fitness. It was hard work keeping up with it, but I vowed to live a more active and healthier life. We have changed our eating habits, still working on the portion sizes, and I've maintained at least 90 minutes of cardio a week. Plus some strength training here and there.

The disappointing part is that I'm still at my starting point with my weight. I've not gained or lost anything for good. Outside of having kids and the weight loss I experienced with nursing, I have been at this weight for four years.

I'm really getting tired of making a little progress with a few pounds off and then springing right back to the begining. It's like I'm on a bungee run. I got the fitness in but, at the same time, I am having a lot of trouble focusing on my goal and watching my portions. :)

Oh my gosh, 10 pounds is outstanding. I'm happy with 3 a month. Just take a good look at 10 pounds of hamburger, that is a bunch of weight to lose, and you have done it every month. You deserve a big pat on the back.

Don't sell yourself short, MissZ1! It takes a lot of hard work to shed 10 pounds no matter how big you are. It may be easIER to lose 10 pounds when you've got a lot of weight to lose, but it's not EASY!

No problems Cheryl. Don't think of it as having to do something forever. Just think "I can do this today". One day at a time is all it takes, then they add up to weeks and months and years. Just one day, you can do this.

I never really got started the first time. I've had the hardest time sticking to any eating or exercise plan for more than one day, but just started again today. I have 80 to 100 pounds to lose to get within a normal weigh range. I have to stick to this or the food and inactivity is going to surely kill me. Sorry I haven't been there for all of you all this time but I will try again to do it the right way this time. Thanks for listening.

Hello! Just checking in to say that I'm still in! The month of December was really hard but I hit my goal of maintaining my weight through to the New Year, though I haven't been tracking my food intake or even logging in to the site.

Here I am now! Also, our Wellness Center at work just moved in to the building I work in which has enabled me to establish a more consistent workout routine. I started it last week and now I need to stick with it! My first goal is to focus on sticking with it for the month of January and begin tracking my calories again.

Thanks and a Happy/Healthy New Year to all of you! emoticon

Hi Michelle!
So glad to see you still on board with us. And, hey, if you were perfect, you wouldn't need this wonderful place and all of us would hate you. lol!

The important thing is that you are back on track and know what you need to do. You have learned from your mistakes - like we all do! - and you are going to give it your all. I actually had two weeks of spinning my wheels too, as I just could't resist the Christmas cookies!

So here we all go!

Since joining I lost a few pounds, but then gained it back, and lost 2 lbs, and gained back 5!!
emoticon

But I'm ready to get back on track. I started running, but I sprained my ankle 2 days ago, so that is on hold for a bit, but I have still gone to the gym to do weights each night. Now I just need to really get strict on my food intake, that is one part I thought I was doing better at, but not as good as I had hoped. So this a new year, and a new start to a better me.

An hour at the gym - heavenly but exhausting! I am going to scout through my cable exercise tv on demand programs to see what I can do today, although the sunshine is really tempting....

Went to the gym for over an hour yesterday. Sure felt good to be back. I won't go today, but will get some exercise at home. We are expecting lots of rain and thunderstorms coming this afternoon, so today will be a inside day again.

I'm still here. Gonna do better this month. No birthdays or parties planned so that will help. Yesterday was a good day, today I have my soup in the crock pot and lots of fruit in the bowl. Things are off to a good start for 2009.

Hey there, Alimlclm! So glad you found us!

Firstly, what you are going to learn really fast here on SP is that you have done the best you could with what you had to work with. We ALL put on this weight because it was the only way we could cope with the hand life dealt us.

There's so much support and friendship and caring here, that all you have to do is open yourself to it and accept a new lifestyle. Maybe its not as easy as we would wish, but it WORKS. And in no time, you will begin to kind of like yourself better. And the better you feel about yourself, the more you will want it. And SP is the key, so take our hand and save yourself.
hugs
Linda

Awww Sunny...*comf*
But don't feel too bad, I fell off the wagon 4 different days this week! Today I was doing great until half of my dinner company cancelled for tonight. All that work and then they tell me they aren't coming! I drowned my sorrows in a pile of chocolate candy.

Well, tomorrow is Monday and time for a clean start. Have some nice chicken soup and we will start all fresh tomorrow. Look how great you are doing! We can do this!

Hi Laurie

Looks like you are doing a great job - 12 pounds! I, too, have a family get together tonight and its going to test my new self control. Lets mentally connect and help each other? It was a challenging week, but we have had 2 months of good hard work and we don't want to undo any of it!

Thanks for checking in!
Lindda

Hello! I'm still here but you wouldn't know it by my food intake the past week! Ugh! I am just hoping to not gain weight this week and then hit it hard after tomorrow (last family get together)!

Terrijoe, Kam, MaryKay, Kathy and Stephanie, its SO great to see you all getting healthier and learning new habits! I think I will be on SP forever myself, a calm oasis in the midst of insanity.

My daughter and son in law left at noon today after a 2.5 day visit. SIL has lost almost 30 pounds on the Biggest Loser, and it was just awfully confusing for me watching what he eats on his plan as opposed to what I do. But I keep remembering, I made my Christmas Eve goal of a 14 pound loss by doing what I am doing, and I am going to keep doing it and not worry about "better" weight loss systems. I celebrated getting back on track today with 2 new pair of jeans - size 14! *dancing*

I have a lot of emails from more of our team that I am about to look through. Yay for us all!

smiles,
Linda

I'm still here ... probably always will be. I stand to gain too much if I leave Spark People. I think I've got my healthy habits firmly ingrained, but sure as the sun comes up in the morning, if I get out of the habit of sparking I'll start sliding down that slippery slope and start losing track of the good habits and drift back to the bad. I know me only too well!

Hi Everyone!

Doing OK. December has been rough for me, because it started with a terrible cold that took about 2 weeks to shake. I've started to get on track with my workouts again, but the "indulgences" of the holiday season are truly challenging. I'd say I did pretty well, not really giving in to too too many sweets. I'm looking forward to the challenges and changes ahead for me in 2009!

Hope everyone is still on board!
Stephanie
