EVAALGIRL, yes I would love to get together. I think we could learn a lot from each other and have fun while we are active. Right now, I have just been walking 30-60 minutes/day around my house or on the American River Trail. Do you have a dog or like dogs? I love walking mine. I hope to eventually start jogging but that's some pounds away. I also can't wait until I can get back on my bike- I think that's 40lbs away. Anyway, we could meet halfway or alternate your area/my area for walks? Let me know what you think. :-)

Evaalgirl, I don't think I live that far away from you but I am really sick right now and going through cancer treatment. Chemo, radiation, the works! So I can barely walk 10 minutes a day and that is just to the mailbox and/or store and back, and then only on my good days.
I was walking 2 miles, 4-5 days a week before I got sick and I would have loved to have had a walking buddy! Maybe next year when I am well:)
I'm in the Arden/ Arcade area, looking for exactly the same as you... someone to be accountable to and actually be able to get out and do SOMETHING with. Unlike you, I've been overweight since I was young, so I don't know what it even feels like to be happy with my body or to feel healthy... in a way I kind of envy that you know where you want to be. Perhaps I'm a little afraid of getting to a place I've never actually been.
If I'm close enough for you, maybe we can get started losing some weight together.

Hi. I live in Citrus Heights/Orangevale and am new to Sparkpeople. I've got a lot of weight to lose and think it would be great to have a weight loss buddy of sorts. We could meet-up once a week to weigh-in, exercise, share tips, etc. Or we could go walking on the American River trail Mon-Fri. Sparkpeople has been a huge help and I'm looking forward to meeting more health-minded people.
