“Get Lean By Summer” 16-Week Buddy Challenge

Who’s ready to Get Lean by Summer? Who needs some buddies to hold them accountable, pick them up when they fall, or be the one to cheer them on for doing a great job? BUCKEYEGAL posted a blog, which is what led to this challenge and she’ll be helping me out with the teams’ total points. Before you sign up, be prepared to make a 16-week commitment to keep this going, keep you motivated, and to help keep your buddies motivated and stay on track.

P.S.: Regardless of what workout you're doing, you can join. Regardless of whether you might be gone for a week or two during the challenge, you can join. Because teams will likely have odd number of members, at the end of each challenge, the totals will be averaged. Getting fit and offering support is the goal here.

Here’s how it will work.

This challenge will start March 2 and end June 21, the day before the first day of summer. We’ll have four separate challenges (4 weeks each) and be split into buddy teams (number of members on each team will be 5-7 each). There will be a separate Buddy Chat post where you can check in with your fellow team buddies on a daily basis to cheer each other on and offer support to those who might need a little bit extra PUSH.

Each team will have there own separate challenge thread and each team member will have their own post within your team thread that you will update on a daily basis as you accomplish each challenge (ONE TEMPLATE POST PER MEMBER). You’ll earn 25 points each for 1) posting and/or replying to other posts on the chat thread, 2) logging your food intake, 3) staying within your calorie range, and 4) logging and reporting your fitness. There will be 25 points for each, with a maximum daily total of 100.

Here is an example of what your template will be that you will copy, reply and paste. You’ll use your original post to come back to daily to add your points for what you did each day. Since you get 25PTS for each day, you can just add to the points that are already there. EXAMPLE: Day 1 Chatting 25pts. If you chat on Day 2 just change the 25 to 50 by clicking EDIT on your original post. Same for the other three parts.

WEEK 1 – 3/2 – 3/8
PART 1 -- CHATTING (25pts):
PART 2 -- LOGGING NUTRITION (25pts):
PART 3 -- CALORIE RANGE (#### - ####...you’ll post your calorie range numbers here (25pts):
PART 4 -- FITNESS (25pts):
TOTAL WEEK 1 POINTS:

Same for Weeks 2 through 4

TOTAL POINTS FOR WEEKS 1 THROUGH FOUR:

You can create your own template if you wish. What ever way you decide to post your points the only thing that is REQUIRED is that at the end of each four weeks, TOTAL YOUR POINTS. The reason for this is there will be a winning team for each four weeks, and each member of the winning team will receive a special team goodie.

The next Four-Week’s challenge will be posted immediately following the previous weeks until we reach WEEKS 12-16. If this goes over well, we can continue this for FALL, etc.

I’ll put the teams together, create the chat link(s) on March 1 to give you time to get to know your buddies, and the challenge will start March 2. I’ll send an e-mail to each member of each team, telling you what your team name is and a link to your chat post. Whatever your team name is, that will also be the name of your team’s challenge link(s). On the day of the first four weeks, look for your team name and that will be your team challenge link.
