If it helps, I've not craved meat in the three years and counting since I've started this. Or at least not more than wanting a taste here or there. I have it, enjoy it, and always realize I don't want any more than that one bite.

Forbidden fruit picks up an allure it instantly loses when it becomes permissible.

lol well, we're kind of in the same boat then with that one.

my boyfriend works for a butcher, he deals with meat, brings it home, cooks and eats it. the reason i became a vegetarian to begin with was motivated by where i had started working at the time (whole foods). i had a lot more vegetarian options than ever! years later, after research and different diets, i realized im a type A blood and we have very low stomach acid and dont assimilate meat as well as others. thats why i continue to not eat it. my body doesnt know what to do with it. the meat sits in my body and acts as a poison rather than fuel.

besides that, im a foodie. i love food. its in my roots (being Puerto rican and italian) and being a recovering over eater... i want it all, all the time. lol. so i just vicariously live through those that eat meat. i'll smell whats being cooked but ill never stick it in my mouth. and for that one time i do "fall off the wagon" ill eat a handful of digestive enzymes and it wont ever be more than a 1/2 tsp.

Since I'm a relatively young pescatarian (less than a year) I hate hearing that your craving for meat has never gone away...for me it depends on what I make for the rest of the family. The food I make for them smells too good! LOL!

heeeelllooo! fellow pesco here. i've been eating fish for about 2 years but ive been vegetarian for 7. i miss meat i wont lie but i cant bring myself to eat it. it makes me physically sick, i cant digest it. i grew up eating everything. guess thats why i was a chunky monkey.

my mom always told me i was allergic to fish. if i ate it i would get terribly sick, since she is extremely allergic to it and all. one day, at work i was gazing at the fish counter (i work in a grocery store) and decided it was the day to try salmon. i just stopped and listened to myself. i needed it! i had a salmon high for a week!!!!! talk about an overload of omegas that my body has never had...

since then ive been hooked. as a friend says, they are just vegetables of the sea. sometimes i go through phases where i cant eat it (or eggs) because i remember what it is and where it came from. but usually my voracious appetite wins. :)
