It's $10 a month, but the first 6 months is included in the purchase of the device. You also get discounts for buying in chunks of months at a time. You can wear it 24 hours a day if you really want to, but I take mine off at night, I sleep slightly better without it. Basically you tell it when you normally get up and go to bed, and it assumes you're sleeping or at least relaxing during those times, unless the data from your Bodybugg tells it otherwise. When you upload your data to the website, it asks you what you were doing while it wasn't on your arm, and you can manually put stuff in, e.g. showering, swimming (you can't get it wet) or just inactive. It straps onto your left arm, sitting on your tricep.

If you're considering replacing your HRM with it, just remember that it doesn't track heart rate at all, because it doesn't consider heart rate a good indicator of calorie burn. If you want to be able to track your heart rate, you'll still need some kind of HRM.

Having said all that, my bodybugg is broken today :( It won't turn on. The three others we have in the family are all fine, so I'm not too worried about reliability, just sad that I won't have it there to rely on for the next few days while they send me a new one. They also gave me two extra months subscription free for the inconvenience, so I really can't complain at all. I knew I relied on it, but never realised -quite- how much until I'm now stuck without it for a bit!

How much is the monthly fee? Maybe I will take back my hrm and get one of those!! People really rave about them. I did find out through my hrm that I for sure an working out hard enough for me. Do you wear the body bugg all day? Is there a chest strap like the hrm? Thank you have a great day!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome. :)

I adore my Bodybugg. I was on Weight Watchers for the beginning part of my weight loss journey, and the BodyBugg monthly fee is cheaper than Weight Watchers, so it was an easy decision for me once I'd decided to splurge on the device itself. I sometimes wear my heart rate monitor when I exercise, and I know what you mean about it stressing you out; I had a bit of a heart issue about 18 months ago so I tend to wear my heart rate monitor more for reassurance that my heart hasn't gone into arrhythmia again.. I'm paranoid even this much later, thanks to my cardiologist telling me that I probably now have a possible 'tendency' for my heart to do that. :-/

The Bodybugg thankfully you don't even think about while you exercise, but I plug in my calorie burn info as soon as I get home from work in order to see how much of a workout I really need before I go to bed. It usually prompts me to get to the gym :) One of the best things about it is that I can see exactly how effective each of my workouts is in terms of calories per minute. One of these days I'll get myself the digital display that goes with it so that I can see as it's happening, but for now it's enough for me to see at the end of the day and plan tomorrow accordingly.

Awsome!! Welcome to the team, there are great challenges here and nice people!!! Me included!! emoticon If you have any questions about anything just ask!! Oh I have been reading about the body bugg! Is it worth the monthly fee? I bought a heart rate monitor and I am not sure it is helping me. I spend all my time thinking I am going to stroke out. LOL. I think it stressed me out and maybe the body bugg would b e better for me!!!
Have a great day!!

Hey everyone. I thought I'd better introduce myself as a new member to the team. My name is Sarah, I live in AZ, and I have a sit down all day job. Over the last few months I've been doing pretty well on my determination to work out after work most nights; my Bodybugg helps me with motivation for that, thankfully. I look forward to getting to know you guys and getting involved with the team.
