@JEFFANI ~ If you are having less than a thrilling time with the C25K you might want to checkout the 5K Your Way training plans. There are 4 different plans depending on you skill level or desire. There is walk, walk/jog, rookie running and running. Here is the link....

Welcome to the team!

Running is very rewarding. Take your time and don't get frustrated. You will have good days and bad days. Just don't give up! Good music also helps with running.

Good Luck!

I had not heard of the C25K, so I looked it up. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. This is something I would like to try, too.

Hi Stephani. The C25K is a great program to get you started. I think the mistake a lot of people make is that they try to push too fast too soon thinking they need to go faster or longer. That will get you injured or burnt out faster than anything. Just follow the program and be patient with yourself. Running is one of those things that grows on you. Congratulations for going about it the smart way and hang in there. Good luck to you. emoticon

Hi there! My name is Stephani and I'm new here. I am currently trying to lose weight by eating healthy and running. I am doing the C25K program (week 1). So far I'm not loving running but I am hoping that if I stick with it, I will learn to. I would prefer to run outside but I am starting with a treadmill bc I'm in TX...it was 106 degrees here yesterday.

Any tips or tricks to getting started? I know one of (if not THE) the most important things is the shoes. I have good shoes...I was fitted for them at a running store.

I look forward to embarking on this journey with all of you!
