I am giving this a go. Stress is playing a part in this weight as well. My family has gone through such turmoil since Hurricane Katrina; losing first home of three years and still fighting with the city; my husband's heart two attacks and he's relatively thin, I am no longer working and my mother's kidney cancer. The bad kidney was removed and she now is on dialysis. She is 79 and a trooper. My husband is doing fine and working. We are grateful and taking one day at a time. It's just overwhelming at times and add to that the fact that we can never go home again. Sometimes it's hard to move forward when you know you have to. My husband and I are both approaching 60 and we are trying to be settled and start over. Just trying to find the logic in it all. We will keep our heads up and do our best.

Track your food and exercise! Very important. You may not think you're eating much until you start logging it in.
SP has some great videos to help you get some exercise in. Also, walking is great exercise. Do it as much as you can. The key here is to do it daily no matter how little or how much. Once you've done it for awhile, it will become a habit and won't be such a struggle. Being healthy is a great way to help with your pains and sleep apnea.

Sleep apnea is serious stuff...hoping you've already completed a sleep study and have a CPAP or BiPAP which you're using...if not this is critical to do ASAP! I'm speaking from personal experience here...!

I'm Lynn and I am a 55 year old female with weight issues and serious back issues. I do not get a good night sleep because of pain and sleep apnea. I no longer work because of this and it's a bit depressing. I really do not eat much but can't seem to shed any weight. I try to incorporate more activity in my daily routine, but it's contingent on level of pain. So, now I am trying not to concentrate on myself by sewing or crocheting to help others. I really want to lose weight to feel better and do more.
