I walk wherever I am. This week, I'm walking in the woods and have seen deer, foxes, and even a few lakes. It is gorgeous even if a little cool which is also good for a walk.
Have walked anywhere but live in the 'burbs so my walks are pretty calm and quiet. Listen to my book with the volume as low as I can get it and still hear the story. Need to be able to hear the things around me.

My favorite thing is long runs outside with upbeat music... makes me feel ALIVE!
However, this is normally unpractical in my real life.
-The elliptical allows me to whip out 20 hard minutes before my morning shower.
-I do not need to put a towel on the driver's seat of my car to protect it from my sweaty back.
-I'm not spending Gas ($4.11/gal up here North of Seattle!!).
-I'm not spending Time to get to someplace or drive back home.
-I don't have to put on "clothes", just an old tee and Soffies.
-No one's going to rob my place while I'm gone.
-I won't get hit by a car, or jumped by a mugger, or chased by a dog.
-Including a shower and getting dressed for the day, it's a 45 minute commitment.
I can do that!

Hey guys, I'm liz and I have just rejoined sparkpeople after a year break of weight loss followed by doing nothing lol. I just started a new team that you guys should check out called Urban Walkers. I hope that with some buddies who are into walking, good vibes, and experiences with urban life will join me and we can rag about red lights sucking and the pedestrians right of way together. Hopefully lose a buttload of weight and feel really good too!
