Thank you to everyone! I'm on 4 days AF this month now. My best friend came over tonight to drink wine. Recently we would have been over the top, laughing, drinking and catching up. I still had 4 glasses, but what a difference from last month. Baby steps!

Welcome Back Jamie! I do the same thing, think I am doing ok on my own...slip off the radar, but eventually I find myself drawn back to this amazing group of supportive friends. I hope you will be active in the AF/MOD thread again too. You are definitely not alone in this!

Hi--glad you're back. I have been back multiple times myself. I think it's like anything, practice makes perfect. I like the approach of this particular team--cut down on the booze and you cut down on calories--plus get the benefits of being AF of course. I feel it was definitely getting out of hand and affecting my life. I had been drinking a whole bottle of red wine a night and then maybe a home brew and a shot glass of creme de menth. Now, I have been AF for a whole 2 days and already feel better. If I continue in the old way I know I would be shortening my life.

Again, it was a good decision of yours I think to come back here.

This is the second (possibly third) time that I rejoined this team. I used to use my stressful job as an excuse for a couple glasses of wine each night, or maybe a whiskey or two. Now, I've lost my job and have used the boredom of unemployment as my excuse to drink. I very rarely get drunk and when I have, only drinking socially. However, a couple drinks each night has become the norm and I've hit a point where I'm not ok with that. I noticed someone had posted on another thread a goal of having 10 AF days a month and I though that sounded like a good goal for me to start with.

So far I have 3 AF days under my belt and I only started 5 days ago! Moderation here I come! This is such a great team and I'm glad to be active again
