Hi I am Christie. I live in West Virginia. I am married to JR and we have three children. Nick is 12, Catie is 3 and Chloe is 16 months. Nick is very athletic with football, basketball and baseball. We will begin his sports starting in August. He will be in the 7th grade and will play for the middle school this year. Catie is just starting to do things. She is in baton. She will be in preschool at the local grade school this year so she is able to receive Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy. I also take her once a week to receive the same services privately. She has had delays since she was born but didnt realize how sever until she was about 2. Thankfully, we were able to receive services from Birth to 3 and they helped us to understand what services she needed besides just not being able to talk. Chloe is growing like a week and seems to have no problems. She and I are going to do the mommy and me gymnastics program this fall if everything goes well. She is just now coming into her own and becoming her own little person. As for me, I love to read and just started back to school to get my masters in psychology with non-profit management. My goal is to do grant writing from my house and start my own non-profit organization. I am happy to say that my husband was baptized this the beginning of July. It is exciting how Heavenly Father works in our lives. I am looking forward to meeting everyone.

Hi Lori! It looks like not many people check in to the team so much. I have been off of SP for awhile, and am just getting back into it.

Sounds like you have a busy life! You can do it! We're all in it together.

Hi Guys,

My name is Lori and I'm new to Spark People and to this group. I was excited to find a LDS Mommy Group. I'm hoping for weekly (or more) chat and accountability to my weightloss. I did well with weightloss a while back when I was part of an online chat group. I love the idea of us all having so much in common.

I am a wife to Rudi for nearly 13 years and mom to two crazy boys, 5 & 8. I stay home with them and my husband works in sales and travels a lot. In addition we're on our 3rd year of him being the bishop, so he's gone a lot!

I am a semi-retired photographer, work in Public Affairs for the church, and live in Liberty, outside of Kansas City.

My hobbies include crafts, home decor, photography (obviously :o), cooking from scratch, and sewing/fashion.

I am really excited about making new friends who are looking to lose weight.

I am an a recovering "People Pleaser" and trying to make time for myself admist all of our activities and service. I think making non-food rewards (and free time) for myself will help me finally lose the weight I need to be healthy.

Hi Everyone!

This is my first week here! My name is Charlotte and I am from Utah. I just turned 35 (yesterday). I am a stay at home mom of 7 children. My oldest is almost 13 and my baby is 7 months old. I really want to get healthier this year and lose all the post pregnancy fat from having 7 babies.

I have tried before after my other pregnancies, but always felt alone and that it was too hard, but this time I am not giving up. I really love all the tools here on SP. I really feel like this will help me in my journey.

Your dreams are not yours by accident. It's your job to make them come true. Jillian Michaels

Hello, ladies! I'm new to SP (though I did use the nutrition tracking after my first baby). I'm friends with Lisa, which is why I ended up at this team. :)

A little about me: I'm 27 and stay home with our three sweet kids. Scott and I have been married for 8 years now. We currently live in Boise.

A little about my goals: I'm at the beginning of my journey to lose 50 pounds. I know all the logistics but have struggled with motivation. I'd love to find a weight loss buddy.

Hi I just joined sparkpeople today, and was so glad to find a group like this. I'm 25, live in UT and am a SAHM to my 2 yr old son. I never lost the pregnancy weight from him and we'd trying to have another one now - but I still want to lose weight in the process, and even in the first few months of pregnancy. I've tried everything (I know everyone says that) but nothing has really worked - so I'm hoping a group like this will help.

Thanks!

Been a while, but I am back. I moved to SLC, UT about a year ago from California. I just gave birth to my 3rd little girl 2 weeks ago and I am looking forward to getting back to this. I am planning on starting a workout here soon. I just started back to school about 11 weeks ago. I am doing a personal training program. So I just got through my first 10 weeks. I got straight A's and am hoping to keep it up with some harder classes coming the next 10 weeks. I am already excited to finish and know it all-haha!! Good luck to everyone. Would love to find some friends on here-especially one's in Utah I could connect with.

Hello everyone! I have not been active at Sparkpeople for a LONG time. That ends today :)
I have found new motivation to get healthy. I started WW again and I have lost 15 pounds. Now I need to get moving more. It is very hot here which makes it easy to just pass on sweating - but I'm determined to make a change!
Happy Summer everyone :)

Hello everyone! My name is Christy and I joined SparkPeople about a week ago. I'm limiting my Team memberships so I can participate on an enjoyable level, but I think this team is must. I've battled with an emotional eating problem since I can remember and I've joined up to help me change my life style permanently. I'm excited about this Mormon Mommies team because I know it will help to have support on the spiritual part of my journey. I've been married for 8 years and I'm a SAHM to an amazing 1yr old little girl. I do have my own business which I run from my home. I am currently our wards YW Secretary.

Hello! I'm so happy to be here with you Mormon Mommies. I joined the site a few weeks ago, but I didn't really start using it until this past Friday, May 28th. I am a sahm to my gorgeous 18 mo daughter, Sophie. My husband is great. I am a Visiting Teaching Supervisor in my ward.
There is a strong trend of early death in my family due to obesity/cholesterol. So...I know if I didn't do something, I was a ticking bomb. Finally, I prayed & prayed that the Lord would change my heart & help me break my addiction to food. I believe He is answering my prayer everyday, little by little. Friday I started tracking my food, and the pounds started coming off. My desire is for this to be my lifestyle for the rest of my life! I have *SO MUCH* to live for! I want to run a marathon one day, be a good healthy example for my daughter, and maybe the Lord will bless me with another child too, when I am healthy enough to have one....

Hi! My name is Raylene and I've been married for almost 3 years and I'm also SAHM of a 21 month old beautiful boy. We are trying for a second baby so my husband and I thought getting healthier will help with the process. Also, we want to be healthier for our son and his future. It's nice to be on a team with other LDS moms. I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Hi everyone! My name is Beth and I am so excited to be here! I have only been a member of SparkPeople for two days, (today is 3), but I have already seen the amazing results that come with following the success tools SparkPeople provide! I am a SAHM and am happily married with four children between the ages of 2-9 and I currently serve as the YW President in our ward, (one of my excuses for not being able to exercise... time). I am looking forward to this new journey and the growth and knowledge that comes with it! I used to be a pro at making excuses for myself; "I'm too busy", "It's baby weight, I had to eat what the baby wanted, I couldn't control what I craved", "It's the family history, I am doomed to be fat", etc. But no more! I am a changed woman! I will no longer give in to my cravings or feelings of discouragement or "I can't do it" attitude. I will take this journey "one bite, one step, one day at a time for me, my family, and our future", and I will succeed. I will grow to be the woman I see in my dreams, the fit, healthy, thin, energetic woman... and I will be a good example to my children and all those around me. No more excuses!

Hi! I just found this page and am so excited for it! I am 28 and get to stay home with my kids - ages 7,6,4,and 2. They keep me pretty busy (most of you reading this know this feeling!). Sometimes I feel a little selfish or worldly focusing on dieting when I am very healthy now and have so many other things to do.

Lately I have been teaching my kids that when they want to hit someone but know they shouldn't it's important to make their bodies listen to their brain and use self control. I realize that this is my problem too. When I want to overeat but know I shouldn't it's time for me to make my body listen to my brain and use some self-control. Isn't this the whole reason we are here on earth? To strengthen our spirit to the point that we have overcome the "natural man" and have that self control - to make our body follow the will of our mind?

This is what I have been working on anyway. I know what I should be doing. Now the hard work is actually doing it consistently.

Hi! I am also new to Spark People and to the Mormon Mommies! Really glad to see a group like this!
I'm in this to lose about 10 pounds... I lost 40 about 6 years ago, and I gave up going any further because I was just sick of dieting. Now, I have fluctuated about 10 pounds, but I want to lose the rest of the 10 I had wanted to originally. I hope that makes sense! :)
Anyways, glad to be here!

Hi All - I am new to spark page and new to Mormon Mommies. My sister across the country got me going here. I am one of those who is never really "overweight" per se, I just bounce around with about 25 pounds. So each year I start up my South Beach Diet, and it usually works if I stick with it. My weakness - SUGAR of all sorts! So, I am hoping that tracking will help with that. I have about 20 more pounds to go. Good to meet all of you!

I am not new to SP but new to Mormon Mommies! How awesome! I am 37 and a mother of 4 beautiful children. I am the 2nd Counselor in YW, and work full-time and love doing theatre. So I'm really busy! But my favorite time is in the gym. I am starting off slow this time. My goal is to just log in and use SP daily and get to the gym. I know the rest will work itself out! So today I have already accomplished my goals! YAY!!

I have 50 lbs to lose and no time to do it in, so I am excited to talk with others and see what is working (or not) for them!

Hey hot mommas!! I've actually been on SP and on this team for about 3 years but haven't been using SP for a couple of years.

My I'm a WAHM with almost 6 year old twins, a super-tall hubby, and crazy little puppy named Gizmo! I love to read, sew and craft (though not good at either, yet), and spend time with my kids. Don't love to exercise until its over and I feel great.

My long-term goal is to lose a whopping 100 lbs (yikes!), and get in the best shape I've ever been in. My short-term goals are to use SP everyday for food tracking and to blog everyday as my journal. I want to try to lose 5-10 lbs a month, which I think is very do-able.

Love this team and love sparkpeople!

I am Lisa. I am approaching 40 this year. Eeeek! (For me anyway) WI have been married to my dear hubby of almost 13 years. We have 4 children ages 10,8,5 and 19 months. I have recently gone back to work for my sister and we co-homeschool.I have struggled with weight my whole life. I have had several times in my life where I have been at a great point weight wise and health wise. There are alot of things that have always contributed to the weight. I really want to get back to what I know is good for me. I want to treat this body that I have been blessed with with more respect. It is great to be back "Sparkin'" I hope that this is the year that I can accomplish this!!

Hi everyone! I am new to this team and to sparkpeople, in fact this is my first intro. I am eternal companion to Brad and mom to seven kids ranging in age from nearly 24 to 2. I also have two grandchildren who live with us (they are 2 and 1). I currently teach in RS once per month and serve in cubs.
I have about 20 lbs to lose but more importantly I am ready to get fit. I spend a ton of time doing for everyone else and not much time on myself, so that is what I am striving to do this year. Can't wait to meet you all!

Hello to all you Mormon Mommies. My name is Pat.I have three children 14,11 & 8 and love being a stay at home mom. I have been a Sparker since 2007. When I joined I was extremely successful and lost a good amount of weight. In fact I met and maintained my goal weight for over a year and half. Then I had to have a heart valve replaced and was put on prednisone for nearly 8 months and all my hard weight loss work was undone. :(
I want so bad to get back to my goal weight but have been trying for 6 months and cannot find the success I had before. Would love any advice/support!

My name is Rina and I lost 10 lbs a year and a half ago w/SP. Then I hurt my knee (at a ward talent show!) and lost my will to exercise. Everything seemed to bother my knee. Being easily defeated, I just gave up and started emotionally eating again. I have gained back all of the weight I lost and it all seems to be in my stomach and face. sigh.
I have 5 kids (15,12,11,5,3)and a wonderful husband. I work at a daycare so I can take my youngest to work with me.
I eat constantly and never pay attention to calories. I love sweets. My house is full of candy and ice cream and I eat it constantly.
I am hoping to get the munching under control with the tools on SP and get my weight back down to where I want it to be!

-Rina

Hello everyone!

For those who don't know my my name is Lisa. I am a momma to 7 kids. Yep they are all mine. :O) Ive been with SP since 2006 after my almost 4yr old was born. My last pg had me carrying twins. They did a major number on my body and I was up to 240lbs. The yr after they were born I was able to lose 75lbs. Last yr I didnt lose much. Im ready to get the rest of the weight off this yr.

My kids are 17, 12,7,5,4,2,2

I work parttime at the local YMCA, so Im surrounded by people trying to become healthy and active.

My goal this yr is to lose the last 30lbs, and to add weight training into my routine. I want to be tone and sleek looking as well as thinner. :O)

Hi! I am a 42 year old mother of four. Three girls ages 16, 12, and 10 and one boy almost 14. I was petite all of my life until I turned 35 and had my fourth child. I am different from most women in the fact that I don't really like to eat. I never had to worry about my weight, so I would just grab a handful of potato chips or candy and that would satisfy me for most of the day. (Even though it was junk food, I wasn't eating enough calories per day). Now I have to think about eating meals and healthy snacks frequently to speed up my metabolism. My goals are to lose 30 lbs., tone my body, and lower my high cholesterol this year. I really need help sticking with it and not giving up when I don't see results as quickly as I would like. Hello all, I am a 35y/o mother of 3. Boys A(12) and E(3) and girl L(6). Like all of you ladies here, life is busy and I am a little over scheduled (ok maybe a lot). Also I love food, which is really my problem. For far to long I have just wanted to eat, when, where and what I wanted. I have never had the metabolism to actually do that so now I am 100+ pounds overweight. Really I just need some support, I hope this can make a difference for me.

Hi, I had my fifth and final baby 5 months ago. My children are 10 and under. I have found myself at my highest not pregnant weight, 220. I really want to lose 90 lbs. I want to lose at least 70 this year. I have learned alot of bad habits wiht food during my pregnancy. I am an emotional eater. I really want to take care of this problem so I can spend more time doing the things I really enjoy, like quilting, digital scrapbooking, photography, decorating etc. I feel like my weight has taken alot of confidence from me and I want it back. I would love any and all help from you all. thanks

I'm a busy mom of three - 6, 3, and 6 mo. I just keep gaining weight and it's depressing me. I want to be happy and healthy again! I love to blog, create, read, bake, dance. I think I'd enjoy being a mom more if I was at a healthier weight - then I might not mind sitting on the floor to play a game, or running around outside with the kids. I know it's not just good for me to be healthy, it's also a commandment! Hoping I can utilize SP more this year!

I really don't want my parents health problems. They have a ton and I was on my way to being the same. My biggest problem is food. I love it way to much! I could easily eat all day long, anything and everything. It's not good. I have 3 young kids who keep me very busy and I'm still learning how to prioritize my time to be healthier. I love going on walks and hiking. I can't wait for all the snow to be gone so I can do that again.

I'm a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it.

I have a hard time staying focused on the task at hand - better health. I get off track very easily! I have 3 kids, 14, 11, and 7 and have found a good exercise buddy in my son, who is a joy to be around and always makes me laugh. I work PT in the printing business and also enjoy blogging. I just completed in 2009 a 365 photo-a-day project that was probably one of the toughest things I have ever done, probably because I had to be accountable and I'm proud to say I saw it through to the end, and learned a little bit about photography along the way.

I'm working on finding me... the real me. I've been on SP and this team for over a year. I'm on a quest for over all better health and well being. I appreciate the tools I've found on SP. I love blooging on SP and putting my thoughts on paper... ok keyboard and screen. I'm the mom of 5 kids - ages 18, 16, 14, 12, and 6 - who I adore and home school. I teach seminary in the morning and I teach voice lesson in the afternoons. I'm developing a hobby of acupressure adjustments and I see 2-3 people a day to practice on. I help the local HS with theater productions with directing assistance, set and light design, and music help. I guess that about sums me up. I'm happy to see more interaction on this team. Us moms need to stick together!
