I always find it a shame when people think they have to miss out on good food when they are trying to be healthier or lose some pounds - you can certainly have the best of both worlds. Welcome to spark!! You have found an amazing site with all the tools and info you need to help you along the way. I,personally, would recommend using the food tracker everyday, not just to make sure you're in your calorie range but to make sure you have got a balanced amount of each food group, and also to add friends as soon as possible so you can feel supported along the way....they're a friendly bunch on here and all going through the same thing. Hey there, Just wanted to say Hi, I am brand new to all this an a bit shy (and i really don't like talking about weight issues... but I suppose we have to start somewhere right?
I am excited to be here! I was a fat kid and forced through numerous weightloss programs which were both mortifying and disgusting and left me traumatised and feeling like eating healthy foods means eating pre-packaged processed foods.
now at 25 I am still overweight but I am passionate about food, and learning how to cook, and am all about making healthy eating fit my lifestyle and passions. I hate the word "diet" because i associate that word with rules and limits and I think (I hope!) you can eat healthy without any limits, just balance :-)
I am not here to diet. or to look for a short term solution I am here to learn, experiment and set myself up for a life time of making healthy choices.
It would be lovely to meet a few people along the way who share a similar passion for limitless healthy eating :-) I live in Scotland and find it difficult to find a lot of the healthy food options offered in the US so would be keen to find out more about where to find healthy food options here :-)
