This forum fits me perfect...I have been a "non" active member since 05/12, but now I am finally focused enough to really use this website. I have finally decided to just eat right and work out, no tricks or gimmicks......and its working!!! Good luck this week to all my BBQ!!!

Going to the next level!!!

I am going to try journaling. Did you know that 86% of African American women are overweight or obese

Those numbers are scary

I like the idea of writing down how you felt after eating. Sounds like you are on the right path!

I think that's a good idea! I take a nutrition/dieting class too, so in it we learned to set a realistic goal and once we make it to that goal, then we can reward ourselves. It is a good form of motivation. I also keep a journal and write down what I eat and how I feel, so that I can track unnecessary eating, and how I was feeling when I ate something I shouldn't have that day. This has been a tremendous help in keeping me on track, and it holds me accountable for what I eat. This weight didn't get on overnight, so just take one day at a time, and keep on moving! You can do it!

Blessings, 2B :-)

atleast you have lost 10 pounds. I have been struggling since last April, I keep losing and regaining the same 6 pounds. I now am going to pay myself 5 dollars a day if I stick to my diet. This money will be used for new clothes, mani/pedis and other special gifts to myself. It is alot of money but it will keep me honest. I want to lose 30 pounds by August. I just need to lose one pound a week which is realistic. I am serious this time, I want to move on with my life and not worry about my weight.

I was in this group before, but I needed to get my act together! I was doing well, but just wasn't in the right mindset. Now, I've started my weight loss journey all over again, and am doing it the way it should be done....one step at a time! I have a new attitude, and a new outlook on life. I am in deed on a mission to work hard, eat right, and get my body back! :-)
