Welcome. I was most likely born with Crohn's Disease with many similarities to IBS. Don't you just hate helpful suggestions like you got with the Metmucil! When I was diagnosed with Heart Failure they told me to simply take a water pill and get lots of rest - no explanations, no further study and so on. I pushed until I got the whys and wherefors and what to do fors. There are lots of resources on here. Another resource might be on the internet. In Canada, I refer often to the Crohn's and colitis Foundation of Canada for many resources and help. There is an American equivalent and perhaps even an IBS one. You might want to check it out. You'll get lots of support here as well. Best of luck.

10 STEPS TO SELF-CARE - If it feels wrong, don't do it; Say "exactly" what you mean; Don't be a people pleaser; Trust your instincts; Never speak bad about yourself; Never give up on your dreams; Don't be afraid to say "No"; Don't be afraid to say "Yes"; Be kind to yourself; Let go of what you can't control; Stay away from drama and negativity as much as possible. Hello everyone. I'm Denise. I joined spark people a few weeks ago (rejoined after many years actually) on my quest for health and weight loss. I was diagnosed with IBS a few months ago, and the only real advice I got was to take metamucil twice a day. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and getting some great information!
