Welcome! Lacey, it does seem that the note is an invasion of privacy. When I was employed, stress would make me run to the restroom during meetings, training, etc. It is a terrible illness.

I believe that people shouldn't talk about us until they know what we are going through.
I also believe that they should have the HIPPA law in the work place!
We are here for you.
I'm just a message away if you want to talk.

My name is Lacey and I'm 30 years old. I live in the Chicagoland area and have been on Spark for about 2 years. I have had weight issues since at least high school. I lose and gain, lose and gain. I have a love/hate relationship with food. I have been diagnosed with IBS for about 5 years now, along with GERD. Sometimes everything is working just fine, and then bam it acts up and I'm either going to the bathroom constantly or not at all. The GERD also does fine for awhile and the flares up.
Stress usually does it for me. I am on various medications and do acupuncture and reiki treatments for them. This year has been crazy at work with new administration. Since I have IBS and often need to use the restroom, I got a doctor's note just to be on the safe side. Well, sure enough I had a comment made about not being in a given classroom when I was scheduled to be there. My principal now has put my doctor's note, word for word, into my evaluation. HIPPA isn't for the workplace. So now anyone who looks at my file can see. Grr...talk about stressful! Not to mention an invasion of privacy,
