Stress doesn't seem to trigger a problem, but when I have a problem it makes it worse. It often makes it a lot worse

Hi Neva and Beth - welcome to the group. Oh how we all know what you go through. I too have have had my IBS for about 40 years. I'm sure even before that because I've always had trouble with my stomach.

It's hard to have a list of food triggers since it can be different for everyone. What may bother you may not bother me. The best thing is to keep a log of what bothers you and stay away from it.

Stress is my largest cause so I have really worked on eliminating the unnecessary part. Some can't be helped. The rest I'm just careful with certain foods and take my medicine when I have a flare up.

Good luck to you. Looking forward to future chats!

My name is Beth. I have had IBS-like symptoms for 30+ years. It is the pits! I did find out about 25 years ago that I am somewhat lactose intolerant; not severe, but I do think about the consequences before I have milk products. Just now getting around to tracking food to find my specific food triggers. Stress is definitely plays a large part.
Is there a SparkPeople app for food tracking other than the main nutrition tracker? One specific for finding food triggers?
