I have found that whenever my stomach is really bad, (after any threats of pooping have passed) if I either go for a walk outside or walk on the treadmill I feel much better. It releases alot of gas and loosens up the stomach muscle considerably. I take Omeprazole everyday but that is mainly for my heart burn. I have stopped eating any white wheat product and switched to all whole wheat and I have stopped eating red meats and pork products and switched to strictly chicken, turkey and fish. Hope this helps

I too have IBS-C Stress is one of my triggers the only thing I have found to help me out is relaxation techniques. If you go see a therapist they can teach you how to do it. It really does help with the stess. Digestive advantage is really good for you too. I also use stool softners every day. I also take Nexium and Amitiza to keep me regular and the Nexium helps my cramping and upset tummy. If you can tolerate milk products the Activia is recommended too.

I have been taking Digestive Advantage for years now and it has helped me so much! I tried Zelnorm but that was horrible stuff and did not work! I also tried Bentyl~it relieves muscle spasms in the gastrointestinal tract but it actually made the constipation worse!!! I swear by the Digestive Advantage for IBS and take flax seed oil and drink lots of water and get my fiber. I also found out that dairy was a trigger for me~bad stomach aches!!! I also eat Dannon Activia Yogurt and that has a calming affect on my tummy!!!

Welcome to the team .If you find a way of dealing with stress do let us know! i partically need it No matter hwo careful I am on eating foods that start it off I still get bad bouts and KNOW it's stress related.
After a sono, endo and colonoscopy, I have finally been diagnosed with IBS-C. So now what??? I don't have any food triggers, unfortunately mine is triggered by STRESS. No foreseeable let up of stress anytime soon so does anyone have any suggestions? Doctor did not prescribe anything at this point, wants me to go back on diet, work out and find way to manage stress for the next month and if there's no improvement we will discuss medication. I would rather not have to take meds so back to the gym and 100% dedication to my diet.
Does anyone take any if the over the counter things I have been seeing? Suggestions?
