Welcome to this team. Check in daily as there is always something new to learn here. My foods are also very bland. No bread, crackers, fried food , deli foods, mayo, ketchup etc etc .
I also am battling a sluggish thyroid and working with my ND regarding this condition. As othere suggested....try and do some exercise...anything to keep you moving...a walk will do wonders for you!
Thanks for your comments,
I have had to give up my medication just purely because I can never remember to take them, I have gone weeks before and then suddendly remembered I am supposed to take them, absolute nightmare that's why i want to control the food intake as much as possible.
Can't really eat fruit as i find its a bit to acidic
What sort of exercise do you do to keep fit?
Thanks for your comments,
I have tried lactose free milk, soya, etc but can't stand the taste my biggest thing is I love cheese and youghurt and can't eat them any more
I don't like cabbage but can only eat broccoli if its been well cooked first otherwise just ill, i know some people eat it raw but my stomach can't handle that.
What exercise do you do to help your weight loss? I find if I over stretch my stomach that can affect me
I too am lactose intolerant....seems to go with the flow. I take a lactose enzyme with just about everything because come to find out most of my meds have lactose in them. Since I've been doing this things have been a bit easier (knock on wood)....
Greasy anything not good, haven't had a french fry since I can't remember when, but that's okay too. Veggies have to be cooked really well, and I also do alot of juicing fresh produce and take supplements for any of the nutrition I miss because of IB. Small portions are a must as well.
Last but not least, don't know what I would do without exercise. I've gone to the gym in agony at times and the workouts really helped.
Good luck, it takes awhile to get everything straightened around, but eventually you'll find your groove, keep the faith sparks friend.
I found that I am lactose intolerant so I drink the lactose free milk and sometimes treat myself to the lactose free ice cream! How do you do with vegetables and fruits? I found that some vegetables like cabbage and broccoli have to be cooked in order for me to eat them. But I love vegetable soups! I stay away from greasy foods~no more french fries!!! Have you tried tofu? You can make so many different types of dinners with it and you can add any kind of seasonings to your liking.
I found that eating small portions and cutting out sweets really helped me to lose weight and of course exercise!!!
Dance as though no one is watching you, love as though you have never been hurt, sing as though no one can hear you and live as though heaven is on earth.
I am 25 years old and was diagnosed with IBS 8 years ago now.
I am allergic to Fish, I am lactose Intollerant, I have had lots of different tests done and found with the IBS i can't eat anything Acidic, Greasy or Spicy or it will make me very ill because of this I have become very nervous about trying new foods because I am worried i will become ill.
I only eat beef and chicken if they are plain and pork but only in sausages, I don't like Rice, Pasta, Noodles, Mushrooms, Indian, Chinese, Mexican, French, Onions, etc so not much fun when it comes to losing weight.
I have also been diagnosed with Polycystic Oveies and an underactive thyriod so it is difficult to lose weight anyway!
Anyone else in similar situation that can help
