Yes, I have these kinds of ongoing problems with constipation, bloating, weight gain, and then the amazing relief when all finally passes, if you know what I mean. I literally feel lighter today, for instance, after a miserable day yesterday. The worst part is that I can't figure it all out --- there seems to be no magic trick or nutritional savior that keeps me from being constipated or bloated, etc. I didn't eat anything spectactularly healthy or fiber-filled yesterday (except for a small salad with ginger dressing -- maybe that helped, I don't know). I was so miserable that I was going to resort to a laxative via suppository. This morning, though, the ole' digestive system decided to work. Who knows?

Wow, that's exactly what I have been experiencing. I had a colonoscopy and was 139 when I weight myself. 3 days later it was 144. I haven't even had the "urge'. I take prescription medicine and Miralax, but it doesn't really help much. I would appreciate ideas also.
I was also diagnosed with IBS-C and have the weight fluctuations almost daily! One day I am elated because I seemingly lost weight and then the next day I have gained it all back and then some! I have found if I eat smaller and more frequent meals during the day and then have a very lite dinner I will lose the weight but only for a little while. I know that emotional stress often makes the symptoms worse and I have to have a quiet and unhurried morning in order to take care of things. Sure wish I could lose these last 10 pounds by Chirstmas!!!

Hello all, I was diagnosised with IBS about 5 years ago now. At that time I was dealing with a lot of pretty severe health issues, and IBS was just one of the diagnosises that came from all that. I was actually diagnosised with IBS with Severe constipation. I usually don't deal with the diahrrea side of things except about one time per month or so, I was wondering if people with this issue had problems with their weekly weighins. I am finding that even with getting my fiber, and drinkin my water, I get stressed severely at work. So my gut shuts down on the days I work. Thankfully I only work two days a week, Saturday and Monday. So with that I weigh on Thursday or Friday. That is usually the time when I have cleaned out enough from the work days. So does anyone else have issues with flucuations in weight, pretty drastic, 3-6 lbs per week from constipation?
