My trainer has asked me to stop starchy carbs and fruits after lunch and I am finding it quite challenging. I am prediabetic so I too am trying to watch my blood sugar. I have a physical coming up so I am hoping to see some positive changes.

trsweirlenga; Forgot to mention switch to brown rice, whole wheat pasta, baked yam instead of white potato---forget the white and switch to w.w. where you can. Try to get stone ground whole wheat, not the "wheat flour" ingredient which justs uses caramel coloring to look whole wheat. Good luck. I have to watch my blood sugar too.

I can so relate. Lettuce, not good, but I can eat steamed spinach in small amounts. I can't eat apples unless I peel them first.
Thanks for the library idea. I will check that out.

I have a similar dilema with diverticulosis. When I am on a low residue diet, usually for 4 weeks after a flare, every fruit and vegeatble has to be cooked and/or pureed. All is fattening. Another dilemma! I will bake an apple. That means I don't have to make applesauce,( which I have done)much easier. Can't have whole grains or raw salad, so I make the best of it. There are probably a million ideas on the internet. Try Spark, then try your local library. They usually can be very helpful. I know. I used to work at one.

Hello,

I have PCOS which means that I am insulin resistant and have to watch the amount and type of carbs I consume to lose weight. With IBS the type of carbs I am required to eat results in the usual symptoms of D and C. What can I do? Any suggestions?
Thanks.
