Meagan, I am the same way with having an unhealthy relationship with food. It's affected my marriage and even how I am with my kids. That means it's time for me to take my life back for good. Hopefully we can support each other. I don't have much support here at home - I don't really want to talk about it with my husband, who has never struggled with any of this. Any time you want to talk about anything, I'm here!
Hi Meagan, Welcome to our team....I just wanted to let you know you are truly not alone on this new journey. I am going to try and help you a little just to get you started. On the top of this page you will see "My Trackers" open that and you will need to scroll down and click on "Planner" inside "planner" is a journal you can write in. I recommend that you use that to express your emotions and write down what you are feeling and why....this will help you to deal with the issue at hand. You also need to become aware when these emotions make you eat...and with that said...write that down as well, when you binge or emotional eat. That way you can pinpoint what is causing you to have these uncontrollable outburst....and when you feel one coming on you can avoid the situation by doing something positive. You will need to write a goal with plans on what to do when you have one of those 'moments". I myself, when I feel a binging moment coming...I go for a walk. By the time I get back ...the "need to binge" is gone. Everyone is different so you will have to work on finding what is best for you. I hope this helps you a bit. Good luck to you.

my name is meagan. and man do I love the name of this group. That is exactly how I feel right now (exclamation mark and all). I have had weight issues all of my life. These past four years have been the hardest where I have recognized that my relationship with food is unhealthy and must be fixed. I have a problem with binge eating and emotional eating and have realized that while I know how to lose the weight I gain from this destructive habit what I dont know how to do is how to keep it off. I am hoping with the support of the SP community I can find a way to get back my optimism, love of life, adventure, and outgoing nature. I wont let food control my life anymore.
