Hi, my name is Wendy and I'm from Kamloops, BC. I've been a member of SparkPeople for a while now, but my activity and commitment to it ebbs and flows. I thought I would see if I could get back into it again to help me lose the remainder of my baby weight and another ten pounds on top of that. I am a mother of an adorable one year old little boy and a two year old fur baby of a dog. I'm trying to be more active by using My Fitness Coach on the Wii, taking my little boy and dog for walks, now that it's nice out do more gardening, and get into jogging. I would like develop a consistent exercise routine, and eat more healthy on a regular basis.

Greetings!

My Name is Stacia. I am new to Sparks. I stumbled across it by accident. I have three beautiful daughters ages 2, 4, and 6 years old. I am currently going back to Collage as well. It is quite the under taking for me with 3 girls in tow, but I am really loving it! Im working towards getting my Paraprofessional Degree in Special Education. I've struggle with Weight my entire life. Always seemed to loose huge amounts while Pregnant (yay me!!!) but once baby came, I always put it right back on and then some. I am just beginning in my journey. Today, I clean out my fridge and pantry and hit the grocery store for healthy friendly foods. I enrolled in a fitness class at the collage as well. If Im taking it as a class, then what choice do I have but to remain motivated, right?! My plan is to get an extra 1-2 hours a week in of fitness on top of my class.

I'm seeking like minded individuals who can help encourage and support me along this journey. Staying motivated will be my biggest challenge! I'd also would like to encourage and help motivate anyone else who needs it if I can.

Thanks, Happy weight loss!

Hi. My name is Sheri. I'm a busy mom of 2 wonderful kids, a 2 year old girl and a 6 year old boy. I have been on spark for awhile but been on and off using it. Ever since I have my 2 year old in 2011, I have not been able to keep the weight off. I know I can do it because I did stick to a diet last summer and did manage to lose 11 pounds, but quickly gained it back in a little over one month. I really want to change my habits and add more exercise into my routine... as busy as it may be.... I want to find some great people to keep me accountable in this journey. My goal is to lose 25 pounds and be back to my pre-daughter weight once and for all.

Hello All! I'm a personal/private chef and busy mom of 3. I have been a member of SparkPeople for a few years now. When I first started, I weighed about 230 and went vegetarian and then vegan. By years end, I lost 35 pounds. Well, I fell of the wagon and as a result, I gained about 20 pounds back.

I am now on the road to healthier eating and working out daily, at least 30 minutes. I am on a 1500/calorie/day regimen and I want to lose 65 pounds.

I know I can do it because I've done it once before. I just have to stay committed, disciplined and dedicated.

I'm looking forward to celebrating all in their success and mine as well :)

Robin here...I need your vote!

I made it to the Top 10 for the LiveHealthy Iowa Dream Team challenge. If I can finish in the Top 5, I will join a team to lead Iowans in their effort to lose weight and live healthier lives!

This is very exciting, but voting ends this Saturday, Dec. 7!

You can vote for Robin Norfleet here:
http://www.livehealthyiowa.org/aspx/Publ
ic/Page.aspx?pid=13675

Live Healthy Iowa is wellness program that offers many challenges throughout the year to promote healthy living in the state. The biggest is the 10-week challenge at the start of the year.

This is a unique opportunity to help inspire others to healthier lifestyles! If I win, I will get access to professional trainers and other support, and will, in turn, share my experiences and encourage others through a blog, Twitter and Facebook.

The Dream Team is chosen to show everyone that healthy living is possible even with varied and busy lifestyles, and I would love to be such an example!

But I need every vote I can get -- it is an extremely tight race!

Thank you for your support!

Keep Moving Forward!

Hi everyone,I am 31 years old and I am not new to sparkpeople however I am new to getting involved in groups. I have always struggled with my weight but after having my first child I gained lots of weight and I am at my heaviest I have ever been. I am hoping to use this site to keep me on track and become more accountable for my choices. Hoping it works this time around :)

Hey ladies!
My name is Sophie. I'm a 34 year old mother of 4.
I joined SP years a go but plateaued and didn't stick with it as a result. Then a few years ago I lost almost 60 lbs with a program called Slimming World. Unfortunately, when my dad got sick I was talking care of him and going to school, so I sort of lost control of things and put back on 40lbs. Then I put back on the last 20 plus a little extra after he passed away....
So after spending a year mourning/pulling myself together here I am!
I have lost 17 lbs already using the nutrition tracker and I just started using the workout tracker consistently last week. So I feel like I'm off to a good start but the one thing I lack is a peer group to confide in. We moved out of state after my dad died and I don't really know anyone here. While I'm working on socializing IRL, I need someplace safe to post about my weight loss struggles. So I was looking for groups and found this one, which looks like exactly what I need! I look forward to getting to know all of you and moving through this journey together. emoticon

So cool! I'm so pumped that this is also working for you!

Another thing I forgot to mention, try getting a pedometer. I started off with a Sportsline one from Walmart (it'll run you about $20).

Just try and do your 10,000 steps per day. Give yourself a break if you've done 30 or 40 min of cardio that day, but otherwise don't go to bed unless you've walked those steps.

I started off my get moving regime that way and now I can't live without my pedometer. I ended up getting a fitbit for Christmas and I love it. It's a way slicker tuck under a pantsuit type of gadget than what I had before, but BOTH work just fine :)

I am so glad to hear of your success! I definitely have been doing what you said, and have noticed a difference. I really started working out the last week or two and I really am amazed at how much more energy I have. It seems like when I'm in the kitchen I feel like dancing. I feel like moving more and I LOVE IT!!! I've lost about 6 pounds, and have so much more to go, but I'm really enjoying this journey. Its hard and I don't always feel like doing it, but I'm determined.

Hi Lori,

I'm catching up on team duties tonight... I hadn't been as assiduous as I should have been. No offense I hope!

I have been trying to get good conversations moving here and trying to liven up the team and for a while nothing was happening. I am pleasantly surprised to see that there were a lot of messages for me to look at from the last couple of weeks!!! YAY!

Feeling good about yourself again is key I think. As soon as you make those few changes in your eating habits and start taking those few steps back into getting fit, you will FEEL an INSTANT difference in your energy levels and overall wellbeing. Use that as a motivator to keep you going and soon enough you will actually SEE the changes that come less instantly, like weightloss and new muscle mass building.

I have found that the key to not getting discouraged is to stay within your Sparkpeople nutrition ratios on your calculator. YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY SEE RESULTS! I have cheated, but never seriously deviated from them. I make sure I eat as much protein I can and eat in a balanced way so that I get enough carbs and fat, etc. And also very important I stay within the calorie limits, never too low and never too high. Within two weeks of doing this in September I had already lost 2 lbs, add the cardio and weight training to that and I have just been melting it away and I haven't plateaud because I keep changing up my exercises.

Keep up the good work, if I can go from 188 to 155 in a matter of months, you can too!

Hi :) I am Lori, I'm a 33 year old mama of 2 awesome little people. Piper is almost 4 and Myles is 2. I stay at home with them. When I met my husband I was a happy 160 lbs which for my frame looked nice on me, but am now up to 227 from having kids and just gaining weight. I hate not being able to wear knee socks or my wedding ring. I want to lose weight yes, but I also want to feel good about myself again, be healthy and a better example to my children. I've been on Sparkpeople for awhile, but really fell off last year and am back to stay! I am new to this group. I really wanted to find a smaller group that had other mamas like me.

Oh my gosh Barbara I can sooooo relate! It only happened to me once, but it's enough to engrave the insult in my psyche. I was at my sister's baby shower and I over heard a friend of the family asking my mom if I was pregnant again. My daughter was 2 at the time and I had just lost 10 pounds... Ugghhh!

Having kids just screws up your whole metabolism and I just want to yell at those women who pop back as soon as the kid comes out.

Hang in there, keep sparking and try to get as much cardio in as you can. It will really help you burn off that holiday food.

I did pretty crappy this season myself, but I'm happy to report that I'm still fitting my brand new size 31 jeans thanks to all of the cardio I did in my basement while the rest of the family was watching TV!

I just bought Zumba 2 for the Wii and a Hip Hop dancing game I'll be reviewing in a couple of days. Zumba Core for the Wii has been a staple of mine during the holidays because I couldn't get out of the house with all the guests I was receiving.

Cheers!

Hi my name is Barbara Im new to the team but, not to spark I havent been on here in over a year I was doing good until the holidays then put on a lot of what I had lost so Im back to sparking and im planning on getting back to were I was and hitting my goal weight in 2013. Iam a mom of two and sometimes still get asked when is the baby due and then I have to say the baby is now 3 thanks I wish to someday not have to even be asked that question as each time it happens it actually pushed me backwards in my weight loss journey I let it get to me im hopeing this year I can over come that and hope that the next time someone asks me that stupid question I will let it motivate me to push harder not discourage me. I wish you all the best of luck with your weight loss journeys and I look forward to getting to know you all along the way Happy Holidays to you all
