I've been a fan of The Firm since I was a teenager (20 years). I've done them off and on since then. I like The Firm because you get cardio and strenght together. It was the first workout I ever did that showed what weight training can do for women. I think even the old ones are good.
I am not far from where I need to be with my eating but have picked up a few bad habits that have gotten me to this point. I am hoping that getting back to some of my favorite firm videos more often will keep me motivated to keep track of my foods more consistently. I have done volumes 3 and 4 this week , did a cathe step workout and 2 pilates classes. Keep up the good work. Thanks, Ellen

Ellen, Thank you! It takes a lot of perseverence and consistency. I started my weight loss journey back when I was in my 40's (I'm 56 now and have gone through the menopausal trip). I lost the first 30 lbs. over about a year and then bounced back and forth with the remainder.
Now, between injuries and health issues, I have to really push myself to stay on track with my exercise habit, which can really derail me; I tend to eat better on the days I work out and not so well on the days I don't.
I agree! Carol ,looking at your weight loss ticker: congratulations! I am dealing with having gained weight over the last 6-7 years, it sort of built up gradually but here I am stuck at 175, 52 years old , post menopausal and need to get this done somehow. I have nearly all of the Firm workouts, old and new, and they all have a place in my workout routine. The Wave system is great for working your balance, but light weights are recommended due to the instability. Also, the 30-40 minute workouts also have a 20-minute express version which helps with time constraints (I'm a firm believer in a short workout is better than no workout at all). Like others have said, look around for better prices.
I have the Wave system and use it in between all my other FIRM workouts. I was fortunate to find the whole system at a Good Will store a couple of years ago and I'm glad I did. I personally like using it because it does pack a punch in these workouts in 30 min. Keep in mind, it might take getting used to, since for me it took a few times to get in the groove of using the Wave itself and the workouts. But once you do, they're fun to do! In general, I love working out with the FIRM, old and new videos. The older ones are longer and even tougher than the ones they have out today, but are worth it! And about 95% of them that I have, I found at either thrift stores, Ebay, or rummage sales, so it didn't cost me a lot. The FIRM has so many different ones out there that I'm sure you'll find something that will work for you and enjoy doing.I also do other workouts like Jillian Michaels, Bob Harper, Buns of Steel, etc, because I like to change it up and not get bored, but always come back to the FIRM. You'll have to let us know if you get the Wave and how you like it.

Hello everyone! I am not a believer...YET! I am very curious about these videos. A Sparkbuddy told me a little bit about her experience and I got to looking at the website. I have just started exercising again early in January. I was doing the treadmill, and just finished Day 7 of Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. I am getting up in the mornings to do them and am NOT a morning person, but have decided I can do 20-30 minutes in the mornings if I could get up early all during the holidays to do "Elf on the Shelf" for my 3 year old! I am trying to decide what video to do next. There are three videos on The FIRM website that piqued my interest, and then I saw it......like angels singing the Hallelujah Chorus.....The Wave System. Has anyone tried it? I am about to buy it, but $80 is a little steep for me ($60 + $20 S&H) for something I know little about and am not sure I will like. However, there are FIVE videos included, all 30 min or less, as well as the Wave, a mat, bands, a book, and a 30 day trial to the FIRM Believers Club. Please let me know your thoughts, positive or not.
